Hey, any of you other bus nuts Hot Rod fans? The NSRA Nationals are in Louisville this coming weekend. They usually have over 13,000 Hot Rods in the past. I plan on taking my bus down on friday and staying a couple days. They have camping right on the grounds (so I understand).
This is one of several trips I planned for this summer. I hope one finally works out. :-\ Plus it's kind of a shake down cruise for my cooling system, electrical system. etc., before we make the long trek out to Boone, IA. for the BIG Farm and Progress show on the 24th. (we're displaying)
Let me know if any of you are going. We can try and hook up.
Later.....

Chaz, I understand that show in Louisville is a really great (Large) showing of hotrods. My interests, as far as hotrods goes, are the 28 thru 31 coupes and roadsters powered by the 4 banger motors. There can be some really interesting banger motors out there. Some were converted to OHV using an early Chevy 1925 ?? OVH head and an adapter on a ford block. There was a guy, couple of years ago, who built up a 4 cly ford flathead and put it into a custom streamliner and went over 200MPH at Bonneville. Imagine a 80+ year old engine block doing that.
Mike
Chaz, what are You putting on display? Just curious to see if You are a classic tractor nut also. John
Mike,
There will be PLENTY of Ol' Skool stuff there. It's all the rage right now.
Junkman,
Nope, not a "Tractor Nut", but several of the old guys who hang around my shop are. Mostly "green tractor" fans, hit and missers and Oil Pulls. Neat stuff but I have too many "vices" now. I do go to the "Power of the Past" meets around here tho.
We are actually demoing a product I am building that will allow farmers to burn corn (old, new , moldy, whatever) and/or biomass to dry their crops in the bins. It can save them 80% or more over propane. (That's why my bus HAS to make it to IA.!!!!)
L-ville is a good show guys, even if you don't take the bus. ;D

I wish the NSRA national show would come back to the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, but others states are offering free use of the space and our fairgrounds has to charge. The show was coming to Minnesota every five years, but 1989 was the last year.
I like looking at old cars, but no desire to actually own one.
Chaz,
I have friends that are bringing rods up. I might even make it myself! Not sure though, things are hectic right now. I have to get an engine out of a broke bus, and steel the aluminum wheels off it too. The wheels are going on the one we just bought. (as soon as I get the studs changed out for them)
But 1 of the guys bring 2 rods up is my welding and fab. man so I might just say "what the HEY" and buzz on up with him. Might even drive the low rider dually up. I'll have to see about accommodations and make a decision from there. Won't be until at least Tuesday before I decide as I'm heading south east tomorrow to look at another bus we may buy! ;D BK ;D
Chaz
Sounds good! If I can get someone to cover my on call we will be there.
Dwayne
Chaz,
I'm probably going Friday morning with a buddy in his Motorhome. Which area are you camping in? I'm leaving the Bus at home , getting it ready for BRISTOL!! Hope to see you there.
Rosie
Cool!!!!!!!!! My bus will in Lot "L" just west of the building and north of KY. Kingdom. (Good Lord willin, and the creek don't rise"!) She will be pretty easy to spot since there will probably be mostly "pretty" coaches there. (Mine is brown and black and in DIRE need of a new skin) ;)
If anyone else dicides to come last minute, they told me they were sold out of "hook up sites" but have PLENTY of dry camping sites.
Hope the rain holds off!!
