OK folks here it is the easiest way I've been able to make this event where it can be enjoyed by the most people! Please vote the most convienent time for you & yours! I will leave the poll for 30 days and see what the results are ! Really need some feedback so we can get this in the planning stages! BK

BK I know your not going to want to hear this but late fall is really not a good time for another rally on the East since Dallas is having his in early October and then there's Jack's early January. Both on the East coast. Having another one during those times or close to thiers would ultimately mean having bus nutz having to choose which one and where to go. I'm not saying you wouldn't get attendees. I just think that people would have planned on one or both of the others already since they have been done. The way the fuel prices are and the economy, it's going to be hard enough to make both of those mentioned for myself but I have already made those plans and I'm sticking to them! I hope you the best regardless of my opinion! I was even thinking of putting something small together down here in or around July when it's really friggin hot so the yanks can see what we have to put up with! LOL Just kidding! I don't think anyone would come then either because of the heat, that's why I think Jack's has become so successful being when it is. It's warmer here than up there! :)

Good luck though and I encourage you to move on regardless of what I think!

Thanks for the reply, and I do realize that the other rally's are there nd hav already been done. But I'm not really on the EAST COAST unslee we're talking about the East Coast of The Missisppi River! Also I'm not really try'n for a big super fancy rally as it'll pretty much be a "Boondock'n Event" sorta 'cause we's out da boondocks, an sorta cause we ain't got no means of suppl'n power for very many! With the "Boondock'n" mentioned that is why it's planned for a time when A/C and Heat should not be necessary! I do appreciate your thoughts and comments though, and am really sorry to hear you won't be able to afford to make it. We already picked out a spot with a nice "hole" just for you at Jack & DML's recommendations! Oh well we'll miss ya and may even put someone else in "yer spot" LOL! BK

BK, I realize this type of response does not help with planning. However, the date is not critical to us but what is happening on the specific date will be.  If the date you choose is open for us we will head to your part of the world. I have not been back to Northwestern Tenn. since Fort Campbell days..a long time. We work on the Texas coast for the sea turtles during the winter months but would love to head your way if a group is going to be gathering. We have seldom taken the time out to meet other bus folks and would like to change that. I will watch your plans develop and let you know ours before the gathering! Maybe have the neck on the dobro repaired by then!

I would love to come and meet Bryce, but I don't know that I can afford the nearly $600 fuel bill this year after the mounting expenses for my conversion.  I could drive my Golf and it would cost only $125 instead.

Brian grap a tent and come on down! Or bring the Dina and plan a project ya need help with, and when it's yer turn in the shop we'll drag anyone who's BTDT in to "Get 'R done" as Elsonador said getting the bus in the shop or ovr the pit for somethin that already needs to be done could save ya more than the fuel or at least make it bearable! The shop's gonna be a no charge kinda thing (except parts & supplies) but bring what ya need and I know others will be as willing as I am to donated our labor to  good cause! This gig is about meeting each other, sharing ideas & help, havin' a good time! I ain't plannin' on charge 'n for nothin that don't cost me! Hope'n to make it a donation system gig! Where as the costs get cover and everyone has a low buck fun time! While doing a little to help each other out in the process! BK

Well guys it sure looks like a lot of fun is planned and maybe some has already started at my expense! I like it!  So much that Susan say's we might have to make plans to attend. I sure hope my dad is stable by then so we can leave AND our Pepper dog (14 yrs old and bad heart)  is better AND the fuel prices (just under 3 bucks here) drop some! :)

Anyway, the only thing that really scares me is the "hole"! Yea that was a funny story that someone took and ran with but there are more stories than thaqt. You should have been at the Bussin 05 rally. They even had private "TANK" seminars on just my bus! I felt so privileged and honored that a bunch of beer drinking KIA's (yes you too Niles) would take the time to discuss my busand it's worthless tanks in depth! It was rather fun to be the center of attention THAT night! I never laughed so hard and it was News Years Eve to boot!

Ok promise me a Flat spot and full hook-ups with a view of the lake, down near the Corona Hut (favorite refreshment) along with a free pit inspection including oil/filter change and we'll be there.... IF our bus will make it that far!  :o

I voted for the last weekend on October - However, I will try to be there any weekend.  It is a pretty short drive for me (Middle Tennessee).  I'm not sure the bus will be ready by then - but I am planning on being there anyway!

Bob, I am the overgrown Gorilla, and they made me take the 36" snap-on breaker bar out of my mouth, and carefully hid my knuckles to hide the blood! (for the picture only! then it was get back in that pit and get to work!) Dads the small guy! LOL! Also as seen by the photo I'd been out in the sun quite a bit!

Thanks Richard! So far it looks as if the last weekend in October is heads up by 1 vote! Hey folks we got 10 votes so far check yer schedules and cast yours today ! I'll have to make sure I get alot of things done, so we all can have fun! I know it early but we were just discuss'n a whole pig an probably a beef shoulder or somethin like that, and probably a half a dozen or so yard birds! Some live music, good cold refreshments, fresh grilled corn on the cob (we in da middle of a cornfield ya know! LOL!) So help us out we gonna make this a super fun time to take action and do somthin on yer ride while kick'n it at Knuckle's "TN Fall Bus Bash"!CA=ast yer vote today! We look'n at try'n to have it cheap as possible with donations for the refreshments and maybe $20 per camper spot (to help pay for the pig and griub) As I said before it's gonna be a mostly boondocking event and anyone who absolutly has to have power will be hooked up to the shop for a small fee! Having taken a good look at the calender for October I voted for the 'Halloween Bash', mostly 'cause in order to win the contest I wouldn't have to wear a costume..( I will NOT dress like the HOG)..but it's gives us another week (after the Timmonsville experience) to get together with some great people here in the mountains before we have to spend the winter in the flatlands of FL. :-\

Besides, what's another 700 miles when yer lookin' at all the work that BK is going to just to get a bunch of Nut's together? ;)

Hey folks it's really look'n like the "TN FALL BUS BASH" is gonna happen October 26th thru the 30th thats Thurs for you early birds thru Mon for those who wanna stay late (stay longer if yopu wish as there is no formal nightly fees or anything jest a good ol' spot in the country to kick it at! Oh yeah anyone wanting to show up earlier is also welcome just be prepared to be conned into helping get things set up and maybe even be a Staff member LOL!)
OK let's make sure everyone is in the know the DATE is not yet set in stone! But here are some details!
#1) Anybody & Everybody is WELCOME! It don't matter what yer mode of getting here is! We got spots for everyone! From Tents to Big Rigs! Sorry no rentals at this time! Motels with-in 10-15 minutes

#2) All spots are boondock style we do have some shady areas! But at this time no electric available (except on a MUST HAVE BASIS!) Water is available on site! Dumping available! I can make Ice available! Fishing pond available to all! Shop Time Available to ALL!

#3) We plan'n on Matt the cook-off man himself cooking at least a whole pig, and probably some beef, and oh yeah plenty of yardbird! (he want's input as to how many guests and what they prefer so he can plan!) Even been mentioned about deep fry'n a turkey (no not one of you, a real one! LOL!)

#4) Shop time to help one another get small projects done! Everyone is welcome to get there rig in over the pit! And please if possible pitch in and help others anywhere you have skill or just manpower & support!

#5) Last but not least there will be plenty of good times for all ! I'm think'n maybe on sunday am if there is a charter bus here we might all oload up and go to Lambert's (Home of the throwed Rolls) in Sikeston, MO (about 2 hrs away also a factory outless mall right there!)

Ok ya'll I hate too keep beat'n this post to death, but We had 20 people vote they'd probably make it, and only 14 have voted when would be best for them! I know not everyone will be able to make it on any given week-end, but please let me know when is best for you! We wanna get this nailed down so we can get it on the calendar, and start making some plans for entertianment(hopefully), how much food will be needed, who we gonna volunteer for the duties of aquiring the refreshments (LOL! Just kidding), How soon to start planning to parking lay out (who to put in which hole LOL!), Maybe get an Ice Freezer(full of ice of course) delivered for that week-end, figure out how much of the fifteen acres (that aren't occupied by a bldg, pond or woods) we need to get bush hogged so Scotty can put a finishing touch on with the mower.
Yes I'll be asking many more things once the date is settled on, but we gotta get the dates down first! Then I'll bug ya for other answers! If I can take the time to do this at no charge for anything (except donations) and basically shut my shop down for 4-5 days and use it for the good of all the nuts that make it. Ya'll can vote when will be best for you! This is noit something I'm doing to make $ on, it's so we can all meet other nuts and to give ya'll a chance to get yer unit in the shop over the pit, or just in the shop to get a group of us to help get some things done that ya really wanna get done but just ain't had no help to get it done! Ace that weekend is not set in stone! Did you vote? We are looking to make it the most conveinent for the most people and that is why I'm go'n with a majority vote! We should vote on weekends we can't make it.  I can't really make it Halloween weekend or the weekend after due to Boy Scout activities, but any other weekend should be good.  I would rather not have it in late November due to possibilities of snow already.  We had a snow/ice event Thanksgiving weekend last year.

Brian, snow should not be a worry here this is west TN, we only see about 1 snow a year, and it's usually around X-Mas to New Yrs, more ice than snow and gone in a day or 2 if it lasts that long at all! ;D

Not that I got a dog in this hunt, but getting into late October, November and December, could get really cold.
October is competing with rallys everywhere.  Halloweenie is tough on kids...?
September would be nice in your area and much more temperate.  Unless you have power poles, heating may require generators running..24/7 for some.  Anyone in a steel tent will freeze their gnu-gnus off. 
What's left in September?  And early October?   And what does September dates conflict with? 
While I cannot make the trip this year, Next year may be doable.   
I like the "pit" concept....reckon Dallas better get started on a pit and cover, or risk moving the Timmonsiville bash to BKs!  No problem.

JR, this is West TN! It don't get cold here till late December or January thru March! Yer think'n of the mountains in East TN! Late October is great camp'n weather here! And July thru September is too Hot for Aluminum tent camping! That's the reason I'm try'n to have it in moderate temps! Might even think about a Spring Bash around April or May! Hey I wish everyone could make it, but hey if ya can ya can, and if ya can't you'll have to see it here ! BK

But, I have to get there and back.  It can certainly snow in Minnesota and Wisconsin by late November.

You're worried about MN snows?  Heck, when I lived up there, we never worried about the roads. . now those guys know how to plow a highway.  My husband was SO impressed with how they flew down the highway, two abreast, about 65 mph, throwing snow all the way over into the fields.  ;D

Worry more about the wienies in this part of the country, who think they should plow the snow to the center of the road and wait for it to melt!  ha ha ::)

NOOOO...the mountains get colder....but I was out there for the NJT Roundup last year.  Must have driven right by your area..."land between the Lakes" sort of thing.   The weather was nice for a couple days, and then turned cold!  That was the first weekend in October.   Went back to Hannibal, MO and the high temps were in the lower 50s.  That's winter around here...for the most part.   
One never really knows what the weather will be...we do an outdoor music gig every halloween and it's been nice outside more often than not...and that's in the NC mountains...not too far from the East TN mountains.

It would be an unusual snowplow that drives 65 MPH plowing snow or salting.  They usually are going under 50 MPH.  This is a cause of many plow accidents as people pass them when they are going slow.

I'm more worried about an ice storm in November than snow.  I drove my F350 dually and travel trailer 250 miles through a horrific snow/ice storm last Thanksgiving weekend.  I would have skipped it, but I was delivering my travel trailer to its new owner and he was only in town that weekend.  That was some white knuckle driving at times.

I would rather not experience that in a bus, plus I would like to keep the bus out of any salt to prevent rust.

Hello Folks, I still ain't drop'n the poll untill it runs out at the end of June, but as it stands now it appears that the "TN Fall Bus Bash" at Knuckle's will be Oct. 27th thru 30th (and early arrivals or late departures are fine with us for those who have extra time to kill or are enroute else where and their schedules allow!) I've been work'n on some plans for a special treat a stuffed pig! It's something our local BBQ Guru said his daddy did 1 time yrs ago, and he's never seen done since! they took the pig and stuffed it with stuffed chickens and stuffed cornish hens, then sewed it back up and roasted it all together! He says he remembers it being a major undertaking for his daddy, but
he sadi the food was awsome! Some be prepared for a great time and some KICK"N CHICKEN and AWSOME PORK!

I probably should have clarified that this was probably 15 - 20 years ago that we following the snow plows down the interstate. . . I-90 between Wisconsin and Austin, MN.  I lived in the Winona and then Austin areas for quite a few years, and it was a beautiful site to see thsoe snow plows runing along.  The first one would be in the left lane, throwing the snow to the right lane, and the second one was just a short distance behind and he threw it way over into the field.  I imagine they had their speed up in order to get the dstiance. . .I don't know, but I assure you, they were moving out. :D 

Since the hubby is from Oklahoma, he had never seen a "real snowplow" ;) working.  In this area, they work hard, but they don't really plan on the snow being around for more than a couple of days, so they don't worry about getting it very far off the roadway, and that particular year, we had a couple of weeks of snowy weather down here, and since they plowed a lot of the snow to the middle of the street, it was a major undertaking >:( to cross it if you had to turn left into a store or something. 

We've been through some pretty rough weather up there too.  . .and year we got stranded over Christmas, 1984 I think, it was 50 below zero with 98 degree below 0 windchills, and you never forget that type of cold and wind.  We always said that when traveling through Iowa on I-35, all you had to do was make it past the "Boondocks" and then you were safe!  Seemed like I-90 in MN and I-35 north of the Boondocks were just cold wastelands when the wind was blowing that snow.  Beautiful, but not something you enjoyed traveling through.  I don't blame you for not taking your bus out in it, for although we'd like to see everyone at the rally's, we don't attend them all ourselves either.   

As it is, those northern states are beautiful, but I'll never move back.  Give me these Winters! ;D  At the NJT Roundup, the 2nd week in October, we'll be wearing short sleeved shirts during the day and cozying up to the campfire in the evenings.  Perfect weather for swapping lies and throwing back a few cold ones.  I don't know if we'll be able to do BK's rally yet, but we'll sure give it a try.  Christy Hicks

Naw but I said I'd keep the poll going til the posted deadline and someone has changed their vote recently! Ok, well, I've got to tell you, it doesn't look like we'll be able to make the Oct 31 weekend.  :'(  I'm really sorry but my office manager has a new boyfriend and he bought them a trip to Mexico for that weekend. 

As she has been through a difficult marriage and a long and difficult divorce, I was the one who encouraged her to give men another chance, and as luck would have it, wouldn't you know she listened to me and eventually met a really nice guy.  Crapola, things are going great for them, which means now she actually has a life outside of work, and is going to start taking occasional long weekends, which means I have to be there when she's gone.  She told me her "surprise" today, and I assured her it was fine.  Geeze. . .I hate being nice at times, ha ha ;). 

She knew we had the roundup for the 13-15th, so she had already told him she'd have to be here for that, so I didn't have the heart to tell her we had actually made plans to be gone on the 31st too ???.  I've learned my lesson now, so from now on, all possible dates I may be gone will be published to her immediately! 

SO, BK, how long will that beer stay cold?  Christy

Since I only drink bottled beer I usually get the long necks! They'll stay cold a loooong time! LOL! I understand the other issue too! BTDT! BK  ;D

Catskinner it'd be my pleasure for Patti & yerself to stop in anytime! I promise not to pester you with to many questions on yer amazing Eagle ! On the Tunica part I'm about 2.5 hrs from there well maybe 3 not everybody drives like I do! LOL! I usually make it from here to the I-240 & US 61 exit in Memphis in 2 hrs flat then it just depends on traffic for the next 20 miles ! By the way you just gave me an idea, we could make a casino run with one of the charter buses on one day of the "Bash" if everybody wanted too! I'll use that as one of my questions when the poll ends! Thanks for the idea & I hope ya'll can make it! BK ;D 8) :)

Hey Dallas, That's a darn good question! I'd have to say officially none yet as I've been covered up and haven't had time to work on it (I've also had to WORK, I spent last weekend in Orlando, FL and All week at the Hilton in Daytona Beach, FL watching the bus sit in the parking lot while I had to be onduty watching the beach, and the lovely ladies on the beach all week!) It was a rough week but somebody had to do it!

Now unofficially I've got NCBob and Danny who've both said they WILL BE HERE as far as that goes, and HuckAbuck (our friend Scotty who helps out around here tremendously when we are here and when we're not too!) Will definetly be here, El Sonador is supposed to be here as this was all started as per his suggestion and he said he'd come back and help out with it!

Now I really need to get things rolling as in setting up a fee and getting early registrations as NCBob recommended so I'm gonna say Hey yal'll how about some help on this! Please let me know who's definetly planning on being here! In the meantime I'll get a fee figured out and a registration form set up so folks can get registered! I'm think'n about a $ 35 preregistration and a $50 at the door registration which will cover all 7 days I have posted for early arrivals and late departures I've also had a $10 a day suggestion! I'm still working on it and would like some ideas so I can get some info posted!

Also on an unrelated subject Steve aka El Sonador has gotten our bus company website up and running and has done a great job if you ask me we still have some slight editing to do, but hey check it out! Cliff, I wish I'd known you were there I was pretty much free the whole time I was in FL, it was not yer usual charter trip fer sure! I don't know if I'll be there between now an February, but I should be there then during the cheerleaders conventions (big time bus biz then!) I hoping to bring a group of cheerleaders down there and then also work for the convention while there! But that'll be more like work than this last trip was ! BK ;D

Welcome home Knuk.  We're leaving from your bash to winter about 4 miles from Cliff and his family.  So if there's a beer bash in your future in FL...you'll have to include me! ;)

As soon as you get some numbers together for the registration fee and the daily fee, we'll get the 'check in the mail'.  We usually include a bit extra for the hog! :)

That bus full of Cheerleaders doesn't sound like anything you'd enjoy.....much. :o
