Looking to check out steam and diesel railroad rides and museums in Houston Dallas San Antonio areas.

Mike don't know of any rides or museums in Houston but there is one in Galveston (there is a train museum in Houston but if I remember it's diesel engines)

In Palestine Texas we have the old steam train that runs from Palestine,Texas to Rusk,Texas.
And one GMC Bus Nut.
