Title: Americana Frig, not cold
Post by: Kwajdiver on July 16, 2008, 05:37:47 PM
My Americana Refrigerator seems to be dying.  It's not keeping the beer as cold as it once did, nor the ice cream.  Is there an adjustment on these units?  A way to check the system?

Model number RM 2852
AC & Gas

Thanks in advanced for the help.

easiest first check is to make sure all heat exchangers are getting the appropite air flow, outside and in.

Bill, you control the temperature on a 2852 by moving the sensor or the theristor on the back of the fridge up or down on the fins  good luck if that doesn't work go www.rvmobile.com or call 1-425-355-1176

Hi Bill,

Are you running it on gas or electric?

If electric, check to see if the element is burning the insulation in it's mounting hole by pulling the element out and inspecting it.

If gas, make sure the unit is venting properly as mentioned above.

Or if it either way...then it the evaporative system.
