Title: 1997 3126 Cat oil pressure sender
Post by: bobofthenorth on July 12, 2008, 11:24:51 AM
Anybody know where it would be located?

We've got friends visiting with an Empress motorhome.  His oil pressure gauge has been non-functional for some time.  Apparently yesterday on the trip out his oil pressure idiot light was flickering on at idle.  Now he is understandably worried about going further.  If we could figure out which sender is the oil pressure sender we would put a mechanical gauge in to confirm whether he has a sender problem or an oil pressure problem.

There's three senders on the top of the engine that look like oil pressure senders but we don't know which one to T into.

Anybody know?

If all else fails, start the engine and loosen a sender. If oil comes out, that would be the one to tee into.  Jack

We're going to call the Cat service hotline.  That's a HEUI engine so I'm thinking that if it runs it has oil pressure.
