On FRed HObe? I heard he suffered a heart attact this morning!
I just talked to him yesterday and he sounded great and said he felt fine!
BS
Haven't heard a thing!
I sure hope Freds OK........
He's one of a kind and I really enjoy talking to him every time I see him.
Our best wishes to Him for a speedy recovery.
On a lighter note:
Ace, if this is what one of your calls will do, don't call me anytime soon....... ;D
Cliff
Gee Cliff, I call Bob and he survives, well I THINK he does anyway!
BS
Alive and kicking, thank you. I'll try and give Caroline a call to see how Fred is doing and report back.....
Bob
Bob,
Please let us know. I think it would be better if Caroline only received a single phone call rather than everyone calling at this time. We will keep them in our prayers. I know Fred pushes himself way to hard, but he just plain enjoys working hard. Jack
Amen Jack.
Jerry & Lynette
Do we know anything yet?

Our prayers and best wishes are with them also! I was hoping to meet up with him someday soon as he tells me that when I'm at the Lake Park, GA Flying J I'm only 10-15 miles from him! And I stop at that Flying J both ways on all trip to that end of FL! BK
Herer is the reply I got to an email I sent to Carolyn Hobe (the reply was received 7/3): Yes and he is doing well and will be home tomorrow, in fact he was upset he could not come home today. He will answer when he gets here. Carolyn
Great News Jack!
Thanks for updating us.
Nick-
I just spoke with Fred, the 'old Curmudgeon', and he's at home...arrived home today. The Dr's say he did some real damage to the lower part of his heart and cannot do anything for 2 weeks. Surgury might be around the corner.
Now, the fact that he was swinging a 20 Lb sledge hammer breaking concrete in 100+ degree weather shouldn't have had any effect on him....but the Dr's said that because of the fact that he's been so active for so long was in his favor.
He'd be happy to hear from you at 850-929-4021.
Bob
Thanks Jack!
Praise the Lord he coming out of the hospital to be with his love (Carolyn).
Jerry & Lynette
Is any one really surprised that Fred wanted to be home on the 4th instead of in a hospital?
Best wished to Fred and good luck to his family on holding him down for those two weeks!!!
Happy Independence Day! Remember our current and past men and women who have served in the Armed Forces. They are the reason behind our opportunities!!!

When he is out of the hospital...he needs the calm & rest with very limited phone calls for a while to regain his strength. It will happen again if he does not recuperate properly. After all...no matter how hard we been working, it will slow you down as we get older from stiffness & chest pains. I be the first to say that it will never happen to me...but now after operation having two stents back of my heart, I am no where near the strength as of 3 years ago.
Fred is a soft hearted man with a lot of ambition to do conversions and help other bus nuts with conversion problems.
In my book, Fred Hobe is "Mr Bus Conversion" and a great family man.
Jerry & Lynette
PS..added Fred & family to my prayer list.
Is Fred Hobe the same as FastFred?
Thanks
Jack

Different Fred!
Fred Hobe is up in Madison,FL........
Cliff
Jack H Jr, Fred may have been accused of many things (and with all due respect to F/F) he's never, to my knowledge, been accused of being 'fast'!
Fred was one of the pioneers in the Bus Conversion business. While I've known him for a couple of years (and being somewhere around his hallowed years) I've not personally witnessed more than a few of his Masterpieces. He's done work for me on my 40 year old bus (of a mechanical nature) and has excelled in all I've asked of him.
For those of you new to our hobby (and that would include me) you can find his wisdom at:
North Florida Bus Conversions.com (http://www.northfloridabusconversions.com)
For those who have known Fred and Caroline please do contact him...he's not near as frail as you might expect for a man who's gone through his first serious heart attack....and it might give Caroline a bit of ' relief at the same time. When I named him a 'Curmudgeon' earlier...I know she's in general agreement! ;)
Bob
Tried to fix link but was not successful. Richard
My goof, Richard....it's northfloridabusconversions.com
Chalk it up to getting old and feeble...... :D
Bob
Can't get that to work either Bob.
This is Fred's site that I am familiar with:
http://users.cwnet.com/~thall/fredhobe.htm
Is it the same site or does he have a whole other one?
Far be it for me to attempt to act like an authority here or anywhere else. I bow to your superior knowledge and thank you for the link.

??? I had not intended to be offensive and didn't think it came across negative. Oh well, sorry if I offended. I enjoy reading his info and have learned a lot from it, I would be very interested in any other site he has.
HighTech,
That's the only site I know of myself, it has been a good resource for me to.
I have never had the pleasure of meeting Fred, hope he gets better soon.
Paul
Mike, I wasn't offended in any way...don't get confused. There are some out there who will burn your backside if you in any way attempt to come across as an authoritarian individual.
I was just being my usual humble self.

And I have been informed by very close unidentified friends of Ol' Bobs that he has been around since Moby Dick was a minnow! (and a democratic one at that!) So he has much wisdom and knowledge of which he speaks. ;D BK ;D

when did that start? ;D
Just prior to your asking the question, Tom. Have a great day!
Bob
You guys are always good for a chuckle. I was gonna start yelling "Hit'em Redneck, hit'em" but you both caught up with each other and discovered you were friends. Would be more fun if I could type faster.
Flat medium....WOW,
John
Just had dinner with Jack and Jim, glad to hear that's Fred's doing well. He has forgotten more about buses, than I ever will know. I still need to get back up there for a paint job,,,,,, ::) One day, one day.....
Take care Fred,
