Title: How far is it?
Post by: Len Silva on June 26, 2008, 05:36:38 AM
Used to be, when someone would ask "How far from Gainesville to St. Pete"?, the answer would be "Oh, about two and a half to three hours".  Now the answer is "Oh, about a hundred, hundred and a quarter".  :)

Here in West Virginia, it is a "fur piece""  or "right near".

When I used to live in L.A. CA, traveling directions/time was always expressed in minutes, depending upon the time of day and the route chosen.  Now it would not surprise me the least to hear it said instead....."Oh, about 50 bucks or soos."  He he he.  :) :) :)

It seems so lame to try to explain a failed joke, but here I must ;D.  The point I was trying to make, however poorly, was that now instead of thinking in miles or time, we think in dollars.

"Texas is nothing but miles and miles of nothing but miles and miles"  from an old comedian that I can't remember.

Montana don't have much to brag about either! Don't care if I ever see Miles City again in this life.

The best thing about the east side of Montana is the sign that says, "Beach, North Dakota City Limits"
