I'm >:(
Left MN on Thurs. noon. went to pipestone,mn for the night. great Nat. Monument.
Drove like hell to Arky for Sat. morn.
Then had to go to a shindig for Sat. night about 50 miles down a road not meant for buses.
25 miles down said road a huge POP came from right under my seat (SHOTGUN LOUD).
Front airbag on front axle driver side. Drove back to town in second gear at govenor (to keep air up) made it no prob. ;D
Talked to MCI in the sky and they say "not a standard airbag" so I have to order from Dallas on Mon.
will fix at the local US Coach on Tues. morn.
Thank God and Mci for those bumpstops.
Dang!
Devin
P.S.
Hey, Gumpy and others
I will be back at creating a place to park buses in MN in two weeks, and could seriously use some opinions then.
Hi Devin,
You mean "BANG" or I guess "DANG" too...
Sorry to hear that... I can't imagine that feeling YET!
What is the life span of air bags anyway? 10 years, 15 years, 20 years..??

Nick from the time it is installed ...until just moments before it goes BANG! Sorry I couldn't help it! ;D BK ;
whats non standard about it
Devin,
Give me a call or email when you get back. We'll figure it out. I'm flying to AK next Sunday, and will be gone for 2 weeks. Should be here through July. Have to get my electrical moved and get my gen installed before Aug.
So, why are your MC9 bags not standard?
craig
the only reason I said they're not standard is because the guy at US Coach (chrtr co.) told me that.
If they are standard how do I order them from a Freightliner, or Pete dealer?
I have to get it back on the road asap and figured the way to do that is order them from MCI Dallas / Next day them here, and put them on.
If there is another better way please let me know.
1980 MC9 left front airbag. will probably replace both on that side.
Thanks
Devin
then they are standard, the mechanic is just not familiar with an MC-9
they also are not truck airbags so getting them from a freightliner or other truck dealer likely is not going to happen.
