Title: a little more progress I hope
Post by: Bob Gil on June 13, 2008, 05:58:56 PM
Well with the heat it seams like I have done three days work today and only got very little done.

I worked on the genset plumbing and rebuilt the dynamo and installed it.  Still need the regulator for it and a new belt but i think I have the biggest part of it done.

I will post before and after pictures.  i think some of you will remember the tall plumbing that went 2 foot up in the air and then across and floped every where.

Well i hope I made an inprovement.  It still has to go up about 8 inches but once it gets to the copper tubing it is down hill to the radiator.  i hope it will help.  I When I redid it I was able to fix the leaks it had and now I hope it will work better.  Now if I can just find a regulator cheap.

It looks a lot better and should get better flow as the first hose isn't pinched off. Keep plugging away, you're doing good...

Well I posted that and decided to move the bus and mow the grass under it.

I backed it up and could not believe what i saw.  A streak where I had leaked Diesel from under the bus.  Seams that the return line I hooked to the back of the head is not getting the fuel back to the tank.

Well I guess I will be under it again trying to figure out how i messed up this time. I did not have any fuel leaking when I was running off of the 5 gal can then none when I got the line from the tank hooked up so it only leaves the return line.  Wonder what I will find when I get under there and chase that down.

Bob...Whatever you do about getting under it.....whether you have air or metal springs....be sure you block it well & wide so it can't roll as well not to come down to pin you. It should be blocked in front of axle under spring hanger for metal spring or under control arm's anchor frame.
