The National Propane Gas Assoc. has issued an alert in connection with portable Propane tanks. It seems some scurrilous individuals are adding Anhydrous Ammonia to empty tanks and turning them in for exchange.
Anhydrous Ammonia is extremely corrosive and can cause sufficient corrosion to a steel tank as to render it dangerous. Please follow the attached link.....

I am offering this information based on what I feel is valid information. If, for some reason, it turns out to be a hoax please pad the cross before you crucify me.

I think you may be safe.... at least for today...
Thanks Brandon. The article doesn't completely debunk the possibility or the probability of this being fact.
In today's world....with all the lies we're being fed from all colors of the Political spectrum and the Marketplace even a hint of something like this should get our attention.
Bob
Obviously the NPGA took it seriously enough to publish the warning.
Especially at WM I have witnessed unqualified employees being given the keys to the propane tank cage to handle a customer tank exchange. And some of the convenience store clerks I've seen don't care enough about anything to pay attention to such things. I do find it harder to imagine that the person who refills the tank would fill one with the telltale discoloration. But who knows how much quality control goes on at those places. I've seen exchange tanks with that nice looking plastic making them look like new that were so rusted under it that I didn't want to touch it.
It is also understandable that meth makers would want to swap out tanks if they could get away with it. To protect there investment, their safety and to get rid of telltale evidence.
Geeeeeze bob, now you want padding? Your getting soft on us now lol.
