Has anyone been able to log on to IBP web site? I registered and it sent me a confirmation but when I Try and log on it says account disabled! I tried it numerous ways! I even ordered a new cataloque only to be told it would be 14 weeks for delivery! Not a good way to sell stuff if you ask me. Guess I'll have to take a day off and ride over there!

maybe someone on the board come host it on their website where it could be downloaded by those that want it. The reason I suggest this is most email accounts are restricted to 5 mg file size.

Ace let me know when you are going I'll take a ride with you . I have order a catalog almost two years ago too never received it.
Same story with me, I requested a catalog in january and they told me it would be 16 weeks, they did not mention that they had it on CD. I think that I have plenty of storage on my site to put up the catalog for download. Like Ace said, looks like they don't care if they sell anything or not, the board is makeing more effort to circulate their catalog than they are.

Yup, too big. Most email systems are capped at 10-20MB. Even RapidShare.com limits you to 100MB now.
Probably the best way will be to burn it to a CD and snail mail it.

I'm so surpised that it is taking so long for you guys to get copies from them. I called them several months ago and received it in about one week. The cd version is nice for me because of my travels.

I use yousendit.com to transfer large files. You can register for free and transfer files up to 1gig. It sends an e-mail to whoever you want with a link to download from the site.
I also have a folder on the server at work that I use for large files. I usually send an e-mail with the link to the folder for someone to download from.

I just checked http://www.yousendit.com (http://www.yousendit.com) and on the free account they have a 100MB file size limit. 1GB/month download limit. Interesting service though.

Ok I know the stuff they have looks good and probably 1st quality but man I can buy a LOT of fuel for what they want for some trim pieces. Matter of fact, I can fill it up!
Think I'll just bite the bullet and make my own! Heck 20 ga SS can't be that hard to work with!
A tail light trim kit, for one side mind you, is $797.98
The rear louver kit which covers each fiberglass section on my motor cover is $849.37
Now the front head light trim is ONLY $125.26 EACH side!
Heck the rear letters that say "PREVOST" are only $183.72
Maybe this is why nobody is getting a catalog!!!!

I couldn't agree more Ace. That is rediculous. I wonder how many people pay that price.
My experience dealing with IBP has led me to believe that failure to receive a catalog from them might in fact be a good thing.
Obviously, enough people are paying those prices to keep IBP in business.
The prices may be high, but if you paid yourself $50 an hour how much would a DIY part cost?
Man, everyone has been bitchin abou prices lately.
Stuff has always been more expensive for buses.....particularly body stuff.
keep in mind aalot of body stuff is brand specific if not model specific, buses are produced in small numbers so there is alot less economy of scale.
of those buses how many will ever need X body part? all this stuff needs to be produced, and carried in inventory with all it's associated costs.

Lots to be said for making your own.
Please share the results of what worked well for working with SS sheet metal & where you were able to get the polished stainless.
The last we bought at work wasn't polished & was over $3.00/ pound & we got a discount for buying over 10,000#!
It was a PITA to work with too. :(
BTW, we'd like to be able to get the water jetting as cheap as IBP found, they must have had a bunch made for that price!
Kyle, I didn't buy the scrap metal I'm using. It's 20g polished mirror finish that a friend of mine gave me from his bus project! (I'm sure I'll pay in the end LOL) but he told me he paid something like 300 bucks a sheet which is 4x10. Now I can make a LOT of neat stuff from a full sheet!
I am trying to make some rear light panels for my bus to house my new LED lights. So far, it has been fairly easy to work with. I tried a nibbler, tin snips, hole saw, and a jig saw. Jig saw got the most votes as it went right thru it like it was wood! I also used an air sander to finish the edges! Did I mention I have a friend that has a 12 foot long sheet metal shear? THAT came in real handy and he didn't charge me anything although I paid him anyway to shear my scrap down to size!
Hope my friend doesn't see me using the word "scrap" :)
If I wanted to and had a pattern, I COULD go down and have yet another friend do the water jetting for me but it just isn't worth it for just the Letters!

My truck mirror got clipped buy some asshole that never stopped it was almost 300.00 not including labor to put it on. and there tens of thousands of those trucks running around

Saw a tip recently on this. Haven't had a chance to use it since though, but it sounds good.
Essentially, create a quick and cheap jig to hold it in place. Put the piece to be hole cut on a piece of wood that is mounted to a work bench. Run in a few power screws just outside each edge of the metal piece. Use at least 3-4 on each side (more on larger pieces) to prevent excessive pressure against the metal piece in any one spot. This will help prevent it from breaking loose and spinning while running the hole saw on it.

22ga, 4x8' sheet brushed w/Lazar film $312.65
22ga, 4x8' sheet polished w/Lazar film $396.00
I have not purchased 20 ga. yet this year but, it is usually 80 bucks more then 22 ga.
Bending and sheering 20ga stainless is equivalent to bending and sheering 16ga cold rolled steel. The stuff is HARD
All your equipment needs to be Big, Big, not sheet metal grade.. Ever priced out a 5x10 Plazma cutting table? $$$$

Nick the 20g stuff I was given was fairly easy to work with! Like I said a regular B&D jig saw went thru it like wood! My handy hand held air sander smoothed the edges just fine!
I DID try a plasma cutter on the small first single light panel but it tried to warp so I didn't want to take a chance on the larger piece's!

Yea ... I agree with Nick, "The stuff is HARD", something doesn't sound right with that 20ga SS that you have Ace . I was suprised when you said that the "jig saw went thru it like wood". SS has nickel in it and nickel is very hard stuff. Nickel also work-hardens making it even harder. I've never been able to cut it with a straight cabon steel holesaw or a jigsaw, it just rounds the tips off the teeth. That why lazer or waterjet cutting is preferred.

I have cut many holes in stainless with a standard holesaw, along with using a jigsaw to cut the stainless, and drilled many holes in the stainless steel in my bus. Its true if you use too high a speed, it work hardens, and then good luck using anything. I have found that if you use a slow speed, or even the technique of start (still a slow speed) and stop, start and stop etc - stainless can be cut fairly quickly and easily. Use of stanlless cutting juice also helps, but is not necessary. Something about the slow speed and high pressure, the teeth really bite in.

There is alot of grades of Stainless. Put a magnet to it, if it sticks even the slightest bit, it's a lower grade then 308 that I use and would
explain why you can cut it so easily.
