has any one put a piano hinge on a one piece entrance door on a mci 9? any pictures uot there ? thanks jim
I did a stainless heavy duty piano hinge on mine. The problem is that the doors are slightly curved so you can't run a hinge the full length. Mine starts at the bottom of the window and runs down to the bottom of the door.
I had to make spacers to keep from bending the hinge as it ran the last 12 inches to the bottom of the door.
If you already have a sedan type door ( factory ) with the big hinges, I would suggest fixing that or rebuilding it. They are much better than a piano hinge. I only did mine that way because I used a door off an MC8 on my NJT MC9 and someone had already
torched the original hinges to get the door off.
Your other option would be an aftermarket door assembly like R&M makes.
I will see if I can find any pictures that I took. I have several thousand on a backup drive but haven't had time to sort through them yet.

Berrybush I am not a MCI person but helped a friend of mine put hinges on his 9 that had the piano type that was giving problems and we used the bottom hinges from a Jeep Wrangler they are thin and strong. He installed the hinges under the skin on the door the only thing showing is the 4 pins and the hinges were chrome it turned out nice .I will see if he can email some photos to you,he bought the hinges from JC Whitney correction on the hinges I was told last night they are made of stainless
