Title: Way too many Prevo's not to be a Rally
Post by: Nick Badame Refrig/ACC on May 27, 2008, 06:50:09 PM
We decided to leave today for Va. Beach instead of Wed and we are at the Chesapeke Bay Bridge Tunnel for the night.

In the past hour, we have seen over 25 late model H345 Conversions going north on Rt. 13 N

Funny Thing, Every one so far was towing a pick up SUV with a golf cart in the bed.... ???

Anybody know of a Rally they may have been at or going to? I tried hailing some on the CB but, no replies..

Might be some of the NASCAR driver's coaches. They hire a driver to move the coaches from track to track. Lowes last weekend, Dover this coming weekend.  Jack

Hi Guy's,

Jack hit it on the nose..

There was a wind restriction this morning on the bay bridge tunnel and 50 or so Nascar Rigs were held up in the parking area on the VA Beach side

along with many more MH's/Prevosts & toads.

They tried to hold me up but after talking to Bridge authorty, they told me if I unhooked the Yukon, I could travel over the bay. And we did...

Now we are are at Holiday Travel Park VA Beach with CCEA Rally.

Speaking of NASCAR, I just uploaded the video of my doing the Petty Driving Experience under the lights at Lowes Motor Speedway.  Here is a link to the video   http://youtube.com/watch?v=r4V7KL2BY-8       Jack

Jack,

You looked like a Pro!

How fast do they allow you to run?

That's on my Christmas Wish List. ;)

Very Cool Indeed.

An instructor is in the car in front of me.  As long as you stay close behind them, they will go faster (up to a point).  I hit 140 on the 1.5 mile track. At Daytona, I should reach 160-165.  Best experience of my life! Jack

My brother did Atlanta and clocked 166mph on one lap. He said his knees were banging against each other when he got out of the car. He won his drive at a grocery store give away.

Very cool, Jack!  I once took a "one day" driving course that included class room instruction and time behind the wheel in a car equipped with casters.  They could be lowered, taking weight off the regular tires at either the front or back, simulating a skid.  It was a blast.  The Petty Experience looks like fun.

I love it, Jack, didn't know you were a hot roder..... :D

I have a total of 27 laps at Atlanta Motor Speedway at speed.  The last trip in my 2000 Corvette, I did 150-155 down the back stretch, 128 in the curves.  We had five Vettes on the track at a time.  You tell yourself you "won't" back off in the turns.  Then that wall starts looking really really big.  Then you remember that your in YOUR Vette.  Yep!  you let off the gas, just a little...... ;D

This has to be the most fun you can have with your clothes on.     ::)
