We left BK's today heading for peoria to visit with libby's sister, arrived here just before dark, we'll sure miss BK and his parents, they are great people, shortly after we pulled into peoria, we got a phone call from BK's dad making sure we got here ok, they seem to be enjoying their new screen porch, they said they are looking forward to our return trip south in the fall and we are too, we sure met some wonderful people in the last few months, fuel up here is 4.89, somewhat painfull but not as painfull as not using the bus would be lol.
Hi Cody & Libby,
Bryce and his family are good folks...
If anybody can ever send Charter Busisness BK's way, by all means do so... They are always helping us bus nuts out!
Nick-
Yep, Nick, they are great people. I've seen them get a call from someone with a bus that was having a problem and whatever they could do is done without question or any hesitation, didn't matter if it meant they had to get in the service truck and head to another state or grab one of the revenue buses to pick up the load of passengers and take them where they were going because the bus they were on had a problem, they would would head out to see what they could do for them. And it would be hard to find people more knowlegeable in buses, doesn't seem to be anything they don't know about buses. I've said it many times here on the board but I just can't help but be so proud of being a small part of such a great community, the bus community has welcomed us where ever we went, we didn't know what to expect when we hit the road last fall but we've met so many great people and made some good friends over the winter, we're heading north to visit with family for a month or so but we are already planning our next great adventure, I've got several people that want a pile of sawdust beside their buses.
Thanks Nick & Cody for the kind words. Also thanks to Cody, Libby, Mike Hill & Jay McKnight for dropping their trip into town for dinner. To turn around and go back to the shop, load a new tire into my old broke down piece of crap service truck (see pics), and drive it to me 70 miles away in Paducah, KY after the sidewall blew out (still held air too) of a good tire that so that I'd have a spare tire on the 3 day trip I was leaving out of Henderson, KY for Kings Island in Ohio early in the AM. Couldn't ask for any better friends than busnuts too go hungry for 2 extra hrs, just to bring me a tire! By the way Cody that new screened in porch is awful nice, it's a shame it's gonna get bull dozed when the highway comes thru it! Also gonna miss our security guard, Betty Crocker, and the saw dust! ;D BK ;D

BK,
When my Mom was around 7, she almost 80 now, they State of Minnesota was doing some advanced highway planning. they used eminent domain to buy there 100 year old home and property, the home was a classic, to make way for a planned highway. It was a beauty. The let them salvage alot of the fancy hardware before they tore it down, and I have many pieces still in the wood they were cut from.
Oh yeah the highway.....were still waiting....
Don't hold your breath on those DOT folks.....
Cliff
BK, I think you guys will get a lot of good use out of the porch before the bulldozer gets there, just keep the light on and we'll be back in the fall for page 2 and maybe page 3 of your moms list. We left Peoria this morning, planned on stopping in the madison area to vist with a busnut but got a call from my son in law, my oldest daughter is in the hospital with fluid around her heart and lungs, they suspect cancer, they are going to run some tests to see whats wrong, so we headed home, we're at the same casino that we got snow bound at last fall about 80 miles from home now. I have internet here but we don't have phone service so libby is somewhat upset but I just pooed out and pulled in for the night, 10 hours on the road was enough for me. There is another bus here, a country band out of Iowa is playing at the casino, got to talk buses with them for a bit, they have a 1976 MCI thats all prettied up.
Cody,
