who has the best buy on 22.5 aluminium wheels the stud type thanks guys
You'll find that Accuride wheels are less expensive than Alcoa wheels. Accuride are the standard aluminum wheel of choice for Freightliners and you cannot tell the difference in them by looking at them. They all have the same safety and DOT rating, so that is not an issue. Consider getting the Accuride wheels with Accushield polished finish, then you'll never have to polish them ever again-but-they are delicate to being scratched when a tire man is mounting or demounting a tire-so be ware of that. Also frequent your local friendly truck stop and look thru the free advertisments at the checkout register. Sometimes they have special "take offs" with good deals on 22.5 aluminimumumm wheels.
Also get to know your local friendly heavy truck wrecking yard for good parts including wheels taken off of heavy trucks that don't need them any more. Maybe you can save some money. :) :) :)
think you will find the lions share of alum at truck places are the hub piloted wheels...most buses are stud pilot.
they have good prices because of volume.......most will not match the hub pilott price for a stud pilot wheel.
Also be sure to check the model number with the manufacturer. there are models that are the same size with alot less wt capacity.......overloading an alum wheel can end badly
Thanks for the info but this bus is hub piloted
Make sure you check for cracks between the mounting holes and that the rim is not excessively worn. You can have them polished up like chrome at any good aluminum polishing shop. I just had two fronts done for $95.00 and they look like chrome. Good Luck, TomC
