Something about this 85 Eagle doesn't look right to me. Looks like a factory 1 piece door, the top of door seems too hight for a model 10, the wheels seem too big and, well, it looks newer than 85 to me.

I contacted the seller to see what the Mfr. Plate called it, he said it just says "Eagle Heavy Weight Model".
I'm ready to learn, what do you know?
Todd
Todd, it's a model 15 with the factory 8" raised roof with the one piece door made mostly for the entertainers and looks like regular 24' wheels with 12rx24.5 tires instead of the standard 11x24.5 it's not the cargo model unless somebody removed the big cargo door fwiw sorry Todd I said model 10 and that is a 15 and there were a few 1984 model 15
Thanks for the info, I wondered if that's what it was.
Just spoke to the owner, he got that earlier info off the title, not Mfr. Plate as he'd said.
He's thinking he'll get $25-30k for it.
:o
BAH HA HA HA..... he'll be lucky to get 12k
Exactly what I told him to expect.
I don't think the mileage is even close but he may get 15 to 20 if the bus is clean the model 15s bring a premium from Eagle people
problem is all the Eagle people already have Eagles., most are old and wise enough not to do another conversion
The Air Force Eagle 10's and 15's barley fetch 15k and they are super low mile, no rust....well Low rust units with top notch maint and records to back them up in most cases.
this thing should have a 5k hit just because it was church owned
the two holw wheels also give an optical illusion of a larger when due to the exposed surface area
Teke you would be surprised how many of us old Eagle people are building new ones and I for one went to your state to buy a wrecked model 15 and have it hauled to AZ but someone else got the bus, so you just never know about us Eagle people. And the Air Force had model 10s and 20s not 15s
The SN given on Ebay doesn't come up in the Eagle Production Records. I believe it is being missread.
Here are the the possibilities:
1EUAN6A14EB031268 - Not a valid SN
1EUAN8A14EB031268 - Mod AE10, delivered to Fitzgerald Bus Co (CT)
Fleet #104 Mar 84.
Transferred to Hudson Valley (TST) Corp (NY)
Fleet # 757
1EUAN8A14EB031263 Mod AE10, delivered to Continental Panhandle Lines (TX)
Fleet # 42525 Apr 84
So, if you are serious, it would have to be inspected to see if it looks like a Texas bus or one that spent it's life in the salt of the NE.
You would also have to decipher the SN to make sure it is correct. Eagle SN are referred to as the last 5 numbers on the VIN. They are usually stamped on a plate welded to the frame inside the engine door. The other digits in the VIN were added to comply with the 17 digit VIN requirements.
Hope this helps, Joe

Telebird, I met a guy who owns a beautiful 63 Eagle 01 and is looking to buy another Eagle to convert. Just thought you and others would like to know. I would do another one in a hearbeat! Rust and all. ;)
He may not get Anything, its listed in with Cars, Not "Buses or RV's" what a nimno.. ::)
Teke take it easy you don't have to buy it! Are you always like this?
Joe the production records on Yahoo are incomplete records. I have a 85 Model 10 and the VIN # does not show on the Yahoo production records and I know mine are correct as I have the VIN plate and complete maintenance records since it was sold to American Coach Lines. At the bottom of those records it states that they are not complete.

Yup. That's our Tekebird.
now now.......so there are a few nutjobs out there that would buy a second eagle....LOL, J/K
Seriously. % wise as well as actual figures.....the number of people that are interested in doing a second conversion...or the odds of that person even existing is slim.....
and the fact that bidding only got to 5000 and change leads one to beleive that there isn't a gagle of Eagle owners biting at the bit to jump into bus number two.
Sorry, for those that don't appreciate my realism, and sarcasm (when it comes to Eagles)
why didn't anyone cry EAGLE! when Coach converter dropped the same expected sale price I did.?
Heck rereading my post there isn't hardly anything derogatory....other than the CHurch Comment...which is by and large a true fact
