Title: Fuel Pressure Fuel Flow and Fuel Temp for DDEC Engines
Post by: captain ron on April 09, 2008, 11:30:15 PM
I am gathering parts and info for my WVO conversion and need some hard numbers. What is the fuel pressure for an 8V92 DDEC? What is the fuel flow for that engine and fuel filter? Will fuel temp. of 160 degrees mess with or hurt my ddec unit?  I'm trying to have this up and running for a test trip in early May.

Ron;

How you been, let's see if I can help you some

The pressure should be 50= 70 psi at 1200 rpm the spill rate should be .9 gpm at 1200 no load and you should have 6" mercury suction at the inlet max wit a clean system.

I don't know what the cloud point of the wvo is but run it as cold as you can and still get the performance you are looking for. remember the fuel will heat up in the engine before returning to the tank. You will have to experiment with the temp some to see what works the best. or call Chris goodwin at frybird don;t have his # but you can find him on the web.

Hope that helps
