thats an interesting developement,

I think it is funny that I would suppose the large majority of the demographics of the magazine subscribers as well as board members are not in the market for Such a beast....or should I say due to it's price.....

while Prevost owners are being berated for having a ralley in line with the expediture of thier coaches (new professional conversions)

Interesting that Eagle has chosen BCM rather than any number of the New coach buyer trade magazines, FMCA, National Bus Trader, etc.

I hope soemeone will be kind enough to scan the article for us non subscribers to read

Note:  Still no real info on the company web site

tekebird,

Have you visited the New Silver Eagle Website lately? It has changed a lot. I enjoy the more updated version. Other than that you will form you own opinion, so be it. I am encouraged that someone that has the fortitude and funds to resurrect a dead bird and rise it up from the ashes. We all know you don't like it that's OK, but there are many more who do. Everyone will have an opinion one way or another, I choose to be optimistic. At least it's Made In The USA and not some foreign land that can't even speak English.

As for THEIR CHOICE of how to go about showing off all of their hard work, I think we should be honored they chose BCM as their first avenue to "Get the word out".

They are taking baby steps that require lots of planning and organizing to put out a first class product, let alone the required funds to do so. I salute them.

It was good to see the article on the Flxible's, some great looking coaches that are being put back on the road in style. I really like the looks of them. There is one here by us near Abilene that would be a good one to bring back from the dead.

OK I'm done now, let someone else have a crack at it.

Happy Trails,

Paul

I'm glad there are many different types of buses, it gives you a choice! Life is all about making choices.  I just happen to own a prevost (non professionally converted) I tried to buy an eagle it just wasn't to be. My friend here locally is thrilled with his MCI 9, which by the way is as close to riding in a bus that I get these days and its a great ride! Clarification here...when I say, "as close to riding in a bus" it is not meant to be taken out of context!   After all my bus sits in the driveway blocked up waiting for me to finish it!  I don't believe I ever met a bus I didn't like!!!!! ::)

I'm an eagle owner and I like mine, all buses have issues of some sort, thats ok, we all look for something different in a bus and when we find what we like it's ok to promote it, I'm glad an american company is building a bus, I don't care who is doing it just glad to see it being done.  Anytime a company starts a new project, it's met with a certain amount of criticism, envy, apprehension, and all around mixed emotions.  Too regenerate a company with the history of eagles is a daunting endeavor, your not only up against the government regulations but also have to keep the stockholders happy, not to mention the memories of the past, there are some huge shoes to fill and to try to do that deserves a certain amount of credit. I realize that it doesn't look like the eagles of the past but the very fact that they are trying to put a new american bus on the road is in itself a major feat.

Being new to the board I must be missing something about Tekebird and the Eagle not that it matters oneway or the other but I am with Pat on different types of buses.I have had a MCI5,Bluebird (a great bus) a Prevost and now my latest a 1998 Eagle 15 and have enjoyed each one.I also like the looks of Bob Gills bus what ever it is, brands don't matter just enjoy what you have

I suggest you wait for the hard copy. I have discovered that I really do not like trying to read the on line version.

Never mind the emotional hoo-haw.

If the new Eagle is to be successful, it has to be properly financed, it must meet a price point, the reliability and maintenance must meet a dollar cost per mile equal or better to the established products in the marketplace, and then a heap of luck that they sell enough units before the financing runs out.

It has little to nothing to do with whether they have interpreted the former marque's historical lines in a way that appeases busnuts.

Let us not forget that the original failed to inspire sufficient support and sales to remain viable.

Associating too closely might be a bad thing.

And if GM started building buses again, we'd think they were crap too....

Nothing more romantic than a memory....

happy coaching!
