Hey gang, while I was in Florida week-end b4 last (yeah 2 in a row, and 2 or 3 more in a row coming up!) I got a great deal on some Bridgeston 12R22.5's and brought 4 of them home with me. But dad is afraid they are old stock and is afraid to let me put them on the3 steer axles of the buses unles we can determine when the were built. He said it's been over 2o yrs since he was taught and forgot the date code formula when he first started working for General Tire and he's retired from them since then too! So how about it anybody have that little tidbit of info handy? Thanks ;D BK ;D

have found that Michilin tires manufactured in Europe don;t use this coding sustem....not sure about other foreign brands
Go to Go.....le and type in "tire sidewall codes". I think the one I pulled down was from "wip.......dia". It gives all the stuff on both auto and truck tires. Yeah, if I remember correctly, European and Asian codes read different from ours. Should talk about where on the sidewall the manufacture's date should be. Good luck. :) :) :)
Thanks Doug! And well maybe just possibly on the bank idea! Thanks again. ;D BK ;D
Look for the dot tag & the # after it is the year ex 0301=march 2001 if made befor 2000 only three# Darren.
and a 3 didgit date codes with a triangle after it was built in the 1990's!!!
and a 3 didgit date with no triangle should be nowhere in sight; should have been use to start fires after land clearing :o :o : ::)
BK, the last 4 numbers of the DOT numbers are the week and year of mfg. 2605 is 26th week of 2005. Usually tires are only marked on one sidewall.
Thanks for the replies guys! I guess I really did pretty good 4 brand new Bridgestone R225's 12R22.5's with a 3007 date code for $1000.00! I wish he had more as I got buses going back there soon! LOL!
;D BK ;D
You would think by 3007 we would no longer be useing tires ;D ;D ;D
