Looking for a good noise reducer to use in the generator compartment. Don't have to have the best. Just something to keep the noise down and not hard to put up.hopefully not to expensive.
My favorite:
McMaster-Carr part number 5692T49
Good stuff, easy to install. Can't get it too hot though, but it soaks sound up really well for cheap stuff.

I've seen fiberglass mat ceiling panels do a good job. They work better with the fiberglass facing in, but are easier to keep clean with the solid side out. That attached to 3/4 plywood kept a 15KW diesel quiet as a mouse. With the bay door closed, you didn't even know it was there. HTH!

I used one inch foam with lead sheet in it from Camping World-I'm sure you could get it cheaper, but was convenient. It works very well-considering the generator is literally inside my bus just under a 3/4" plywood with the leaded foam, you can't tell it's there, except of course of the sound transmitted through the bus. When in the back of the bus with the A/C on, can't even hear the gen. Good Luck, TomC
I used R14 Roxul sound insulation ... can't hear the genny running inside or out and a side benefit is it's fire proof.

what ever you use please make sure it is fire proof, i had a diesel gen fire yrs ago and its not something you want to see, a lot of thought and care needs to be used when installing. i got my fire out thanks to the help of a trucker and the local fire dept, still had some damage . had a fuel pump that started leaking and sprayed fuel all over the place including the exaust pipe, not sure what ignited it but it was difficult to put out

Thanks for all the help on this. I found this stuff here (link below) and might go with it
