So tonight I went out to change my oil. After running down my list to make sure I had all my new filters ready etc I put a container under the pan and dropped the bolt. Then I remembered Dallas' advice to warm the oil so it'll flow easier so I started the engine and then went back to make sure all was flowing well.
Now here is my question, how much oil is in there anyway? I think I got it warmed up enough to flow but I'm not sure, can I shut her down now?
By now you should know,........................(7 Gal)>>>>>>>>>Dan
I hope you didn't pull a "DUH" or "DAM"
and try running the engine to pump all that oil out....
Drain Plug IN and warm engine first.. Then engine off then drain plug... DUH....
Otherwise a Dumb Arse Maneuver... ( spell check blanked out on that one.. )

Ummm, I think I said to run the engie to warm the oil
before pulling the drain plug.
And..... there is always one more quart of oil in the engine than you have room for in your drain pan.
If the engine has been running without oil in it, I don't think you'll have to worry too much about shutting it down. It will do that all by itself, especially if the low oil pressure shut down sensor isn't working.
I think this one can be filed under April 1. I hope so anyway....
A bunch! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Dont' forget to shut er down after the oil is all out!!! :D

Had me going, I thought no one really is going to that are they??? ::)
I think there are some out there that would but I hope none of them are members here.
The amount of oil you use depends on weather you reinstalled the drain plug or not. BTDT
