Title: MC-8 Web Site
Post by: JeffsMagicBus on March 23, 2008, 04:18:56 PM
Hello!
I was wondering if anybody out there in Busland could give me their opinion about a web site I was thinking about creating and publishing? I registered the domain name MC-8.com with the idea of letting busnuts post photos of their creations there. It would not have to be an MC-8 either! Anybody could post a picture of their coach and they would have their own page. They can post whatever photos they want as long as they're not larger than 1024 x 768! There is a site MC8.com which I think is a contracting or engineering company but I was thinking that any busnut would surely know to add the hyphen!
I had posted this same post on another popular website and the post was removed before I could even read the replies... I'm not saying I wouldn't charge for banner advertisements or a nominal fee for writing the classified ads, but since I'm not in it for the money, I guess I could be perceived as a threat to some people but that doesn't concern me. I don't play games as I'm more mature than that.
I'll let you go for now.
Best Wishes To You And Your Families.
                                                        Take Care,
                                                                        Jeff :)

The idea is good. We need a good centralized location for people to display their hobby. Give them decent tools to use as many are computer illiterate.

The name is not good. Find a more bus generic name that's easy to remember. Don't make it specific to and MC8. Plus
I don't think you can rely on busnuts to know better and put the hyphen in.

Charging fees will keep people from participating. Busnuts are cheap and there are many other sites they can use for free.
Make it free. If you sell and display advertising, that's up to you, and should cover your costs, as long as it doesn't get in the way of enjoying the content. If it does, nobody will come.

Just my opinion, which you asked for.
