My mechanic sold a truck to another trucker who is using some of it for his rig. He says he does not need the Series 60 engine. It runs, sounds good, is still in the truck, but is of unknown mileage. He says he hopes to get $1500. for it. I assume he would take less. Although I spoke to the guy, I don't have his info but could get it if anyone is interested. The truck is near Santa Cruz, Ca.

Just the metal is worth $1500. So what if it is a high mileage 11.1? The overhaul kits are not terribly expensive and you'd have an excellent 400hp engine that is second to none. If I could find a 2-71 generator for $1500 I would buy it let alone a Series 60 at $1500-especially if it has all the electronics and the gas pedal too! Good Luck, TomC

Yeah, what the heck; even as a running core it may be worth $1500.00 bucks US money. Consider it like gold, its not that it's soosss expensive, it's just that the dollar really sucks right now. Maybe you can get all the other stuff also needed to run this mill, then rebuild it yourself, have fun, learn another new skill, then have bragging rights to the fact that your bought your mightly Detroit for a $song$, then rebuilt and hopped it up yourself. He he he, I love a good plan. :) :) :)
12.7 litre Series 60 is the one most commonly used in motorcoaches.
