Title: New Eagle on the road !!!
Post by: Eagle78550 on March 17, 2008, 09:05:39 AM
I saw the new Eagle on the road twice last week ..once on the expressway going towards Harlingen , and then at South Padre Island on Sunday. That coach is TALL !! Looks taller than a H coach ..I checked the website and there are some new pictures posted so they must have been out on photo shoot or something ...If I get a chance this week I will go to Brownsville and stop by and talk to Craig ..I will let you all know ...I was really excited to see that coach flying down the highway ..my wife commented on what a beautiful coach it was and she usually does not say anything bus related.. LOL!!!....I hope I speak for all the Eagle guys out there that our marque is BACK !!

Good news! While I still don't like the looks of it, I am glad that they are finally getting things rolling (pun intended!). Hopefully, they will get started making the new 15s and 20s again soon.

I gotta agree - the old ones were gorgeous but that looks like a bread truck.

Looks like they did not put a bus oil pan on that engine.  I wonder why not?  It sure does look like it would have a high probability of getting smashed on the first dip into a parking lot.

I dunno, I actually like some of the older Grumman step vans. ;-)

I like the clearance lights, they look pretty slick. The problem I have with the front is the windshields look out of place. There is something that's not quite right about them to me. And the rest of the bus just looks too rectilinear.

I don't like the high mount windshield but the floors in that bus are high, the other one he is building is going to have some improvements to it like radius windows for the door and driver area. That bus  has some good features to it I like the AC system runs off the engine while driving and uses electricity when parked and has a 4 zone comfort control.I also like the clearance lights. One thing about this guy he will listen to you about what you don't like about the bus and that is hard to find in a manufacture of anything

while I still prefer my old model 10 I have to give him credit. he put the bus on the road and is working to revive a company that has had its ups and downs all while keeping it here in the USA. how many of us here would be willing to take on a task this big. while constuctive criticism is probably always welcomed by Craig and his gang those with less than helpful comments should ask themselve "do I have cajonies enough to try and pull this off?"  I for one hope he is successful. I think it would be great to see new eagles prowling the highways even if they dont look the way I personally would build it. I have also bought parts from Craig and am glad they are around to help me with my tired beat up bird.

Steve, they are a great bunch when we were at the rally last year they treated all of us like family members. Some just don't understand that Craig doesn't want to build one a day or compete against MCI,Prevost or other bus manufactures right now he just wants to build them as he get orders for his market as it grows

I for one...Like it!!! ;D I just has to grow on you. I looked at the slide show seven times...just taking it all in. Every time the pictures flow by, you notice something else. If I had the money, I would buy one in a heartbeat. Just remember, If every "e :o e" saw the same thing, there wouldn't be anything out there extraordinary!!!

I wonder if Craig takes trade-ins??? I think the old truck would make some type of down payment ::)!!!

THE EAGLE IS BACK, BABY!!!

I also like it.  Does seem kind of square at first, but anything innovative looks wierd at first (i.e. the B1 stealth bomber?!?!)

The square design ought to make it easier to convert.  I'll buy one as a shell in about 30 years and strip it out and do it like I like it!!!

I could have made a metal box like that with the square rear.  Yes it looks like they used a truck oil pan.  But then maybe it's a male bus-- Good Luck, TomC

I wonder who gets this first bus? I just noticed the big 'B' on the back. While I don't like the shape of it, it would be cool to have the first new Eagle!

I heard it was sold to a ministry in the RGV area so it is staying close to Brownsville.

Most pusher  motorhomes look better tha this.  Its lacking all the style that Eagles are famous for.

come on Jim....Most anything looks better than "IT" does.......LOL

Outside of the headlight area there is no "design" at all

sure geat shiney metal, fancy high  dollar paint job, LED marker lights......and fancy sorta stylish front lower clip ( headlights)

did anyone happen to guesstimate the departure angle with the truck oil pan?
