Post by: paulcjhastings on March 07, 2008, 07:17:23 AM
Here is a pic of the slide rails that I received yesterday. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks i can get started cutting a gianthole in the side of my bus. WooHoo(I didn't feel comfortable using YeeHaw since I'm from MN) ;D

Paul, what kind of rails are you installing I just picked up my bus in Cresco IA from having HWH slides installed at Featherlite my nice warm sunny trip to FL got changed to Iowa you guys are tough that live in that area of  the USA also what kind of seals are you going to use I got the air seals and they are quite no noise what so ever but I don't have the outside flange to pickup the noise    good luck on your install it's a lot of work

I'd really love to see documentation in video or just pics of this project!
Glad it's you and not me but then I'll be jealous when I don't have one.

Hi Paul...I have a question.
Does 1993 Setra have diagonals in between vertical posts to make it as trusses or skin depended monocoupe construction? In others word does your Setra has rivets spacing about 3" apart like GMC and MCI- 5 thru 12 buses?

A photo or two of wall framing would help.

Thanks so much for sharing your project reports.

I admire your will to installs slide-out on your bus. It can be done with proper preparation.

Go for it!

Sojourn for Christ, Jerry

I bought the slideout mechanism for Barker Mfg. As far as seals go I have 1 source that I got from Steve G. I haven't looked into air seals, they may be somthing that I'd be interested in I'm not sure. If you have a source I'd be willing to talk to them.

Jerry,
Setra is not a monocoque construction(in some places it could be considered semi-monocoque), there are virtually no rivits anywhere.
