Title: Bus type and location when requesting help
Post by: Runcutter on March 02, 2008, 08:27:32 AM
Several others before me have made this comment, but I haven't seen it stated recently (at least, directly stated).  New members, in particular, may not have seen this request before and may not think of it independently.

Our profiles have a place for a signature line, where we can put our location and bus/coach type.  In fact, I just updated mine to include the 4107, after seeing some of JR Lynch's posts.  While there is a picture when I post, it may be too small to recognize.  When I have posted specific requests for help, I've always noted that it's for my 4107.

Why is this important?  I've been following several threads asking for help, in which the vehicle, engine, etc. is not identified.  As I'm getting older, I have developed a mild case of CRS (Can't Remember Stuff), so I may not remember who owns what.  I recently tried to identify a part from a close-up picture (and was apparently wrong).  I'm still curious as to what type of vehicle/engine it is, but not curious enough to search someone's profile, investigate past posts, you get the picture.  Why is location of interest?  Help may be next door.  One new member has an interesting project, and it turns out he's only 30-40 miles from me (Not necessarily that I can be much help with his project, but you never know).

So, what's helpful?   Vehicle type, maybe equipment if not stock, and where you are.  If you're posting a close-up picture, maybe another, longer establishing shot.  JR Lynch's posts are a perfect example, and I want to thank him for the good example.

Thanks for bringing this up again Art..

It just helps new and presant members know who and where the person they are talking to, is from.

Also is nice to know who is in your state or even town!

Nick, I just changed the wording on the topic.  My original wording may have been ambiguous, and may not have prompted newer members to investigate further.

Ok, just added mine, course wood related emergencies are really kind of rare unless it's a really nasty splinter lol.

Just added mine and had to check it out. That's a pretty ambiguous statement there Jack LOL and I'm not referring to the Mighty Scenic Cruiser one :D Will

PremiumPrevost, you may not have heard the MO through NC and the states touching them are in the "Bible Belt"?
Therefore if you studied your algebra and trig correctly, drew a line through the hipothiomoose of the thingies that the draw hipothomooses through, you would see that Hickory, NC would be a local call to Heaven! ;D
If that offends I will take it off.

Jack, At one time not that long ago we owned a small farm just on the north west corner of that triangle you describe. Most of my neighbors just used a piece of string and a tin can, and that's a compliment to them. No, do not remove anything. I only commented on your signature because I truly liked it and enjoyed it, and unfortunately hadn't heard it before. If my statement sounded otherwise, I apologize, Will

I tried several time to get it to work is it working now?

Is there a size limit on the picture?  That might have been the problem I was having.

If I need to include any thing else let me know

Bob
