I guess I don't know enough about these buses to know what I am looking at. What is it that has gotten everyone's attention?
It's not a 4106 and I think 1965 was the last year of the '06.

I bet its actually a 4107 thats been modified. Looks it to me.

I have a 4106 with a 6 inch raised roof, the tailgate on that is the same as mine, I think its R&M. I think Tom is right, the front cap looks like that may be a 4107.

I just sent the guy an email asking for the VIN and more pics. Let's see what he comes up with. . .
If nothing else, the VIN will ID the coach correctly.

This is what I have so far from the owner:
"The generator runs great, I did alot of work to it: changed brushes, wires, plugs, fuel pump, oil etc....
Tires are ready to run......I had a blowout on the right rear on the way to san diego from ohio, so I replaced those two with michelin tires in Oklahoma ......from the pics you'll see that the outer ring had to be removed and I lost some of the inner fender well from the impact of debris.....it will require some sheetmetal work in this area. I'd do it myself (journeyman sheetmetal guy here), but I just don't have the access in this area to do any work at all. The motor is a 8/71 with bigger injectors.....any questions about this can be answered by the previous owner."

Nice dash, looks like the bus has most if not all the mechanical upgrades that one usually does on GMs. I asked for more photos of the bays and mechanicals.
The interior is........
There we go, it's a 4107. The picture from the right rear shows the air intake of a 4107, the 4108 has a second set of louvers. As a 4107 owner, that's the only spotting feature I know of (other then the builder's plate, of course).

I got a reply from Larrie, the owner of this coach.
It's PD4107-295, which was delivered new in May of 1966 as fleet number 109 to Penn Stages, based in Allentown, PA.
So there's the possibility of some hidden rust issues. . .

Penn Stages was the Charter side of lehigh Valley Transit prior to it being turned into a transit Authority (LANTA)
good equipment maint at the time.....the 4107 was the last buses they bought....late 60's early 70's it would have been sold off hard to say where it went from Penn.
Prety much any rust issues on a Buffalo will show visible on the skin unless it was recently painted and rust repaiered at that point. That is any hidden rust will be evident by body rust.
Ashame it's got that gaud awefull Eagle cap and Visor...damn I think that is a hideuos match or rather mismatch
RJ, if you could tell the seller or anyone who happens to buy this coach......I have that wheel well trim new as well as the panel behind the wheel that is boogered.
Also can get a photo of this coach when new
