Title: Interior install-looking for bids!!!
Post by: grantgoold on February 24, 2008, 07:24:03 PM
O.K, I have a need to get a bid on the installation of my interior. I have a 1984 MCI9 with the interior gone, new floor and electrical completed to the interior floor. I am looking for input on where I might find bids for someone to build out the interior walls, plumbing, install the shower, toilet, cabinets and master bedroom. I will not cover any windows or raise the roof.

I will not have time between now and when I need to be on the road. I am now set to either finish my own bus or purchase one already completed. If you know someone who is mobile or has a shop in the western states, please let me know.

Your thoughts are much appreciated.

The bus is in Sacramento, CA.

Grant, Not sure what the difference would be between paying someone to finish/install your interior or buying a completed unit.

the completed unit you could actualy finance the install you might be able to finance through a home equity loan

Well Grant not sure exactly what ya have in mind as far as design goes, but ya might check with MIKE aka MAK and see what he'd charge to make it a Moose for ya! Best I remember he doesn't offer a lot of design options, but what he does is funtional and relatively simple in design. Other than that ya might check with B & B in Vegas and I'm not sure who else is on the left coast! Of course I'd suppose there are several who might venture west to do it for you with some fuel $ and living expenses covered! (Oh yeah and Cody would have to have his wood shop delivered from MI by truck, so he could do things properly! LOL!) Of course then there are some of us who'll drive/transfer your coach to a place else where to be done!
FWIW  ;D  BK  ;D

Thanks for the ideas. I have been contacted off the BB by a few converters who might be interested. I have seen Mikes work and like the look. I will find out his schedule and costs. I would be willing to drop the bus off in the US if that made financial sense. Again, thanks!

grant, the question really is what is your budget?  It is not hard to get things to add up to well beyond what a nice completed unit woould cost.

Also, do yourself a favor......get all items discussed in a written contract by line item.....I would even go so far as to have a complete by date.....and penalties for anything past that or a certain time past that date.

not sure where you are in CA but there areseveral converters out there.....and I have not done business with any of them

MAK, there is a guy up around Arroyo Grande which is NE of Santa Barbra
