I am going over to look at a tractor tomarrow.
It is a 1957 MASSEYHARRIS with a 5ft bucket and a gannon with rippers.
I have quite a bit of gravel and 3-5" rocks do you think this tractor would be large enough for the job as well as some land scape work.
Is this a good tractor? are parts available?
any thoughts?
I am in AZ
Thanks,
John
hello John,
What is the model # of the tractor? Parts should not be a problem, there were probably 100s of thousands of Masseys produced. They would not have the power of the newer tractors. If it is an industrial model (usually yellow in color) it would be possibly o.k. for what you want.
Jim
Jim,
IT is yellow and the model # mh50.
thanks,
John
That will work for you and parts are no problem through COs like Value Tractor and Tractor Supply
Wow John You might have one of the last MH50's made In 1957 to 58 production models were produced under the Massey Ferguson name..... :)
was just going to ask if MH was the precurser to MF
If yellow is the original color it is probably an industrial tractor.
Try this link, http://www.tractordata.com/td/massferg.html. There was no listing for MH50 but lots for different models of MF50.
I have a MF40 tractor. Industrial yellow.
but equipped with an agricultural rear end, 3pt hitch and two way PTO.
Big hydraulic pump under its chin. Runs a backhoe attachment and the loader.
If you think keeping track of bus models and optioning is tricky...
Just try to figure out Massey, Harris, Ferguson, and Friends....
happy coaching!

The model 50 was produced as Massey Harris from 1955 to 1956 and as Massey Ferguson from 1957 to 1964 made in both gasoline and diesel FWIW
