Looking for a place or a pit where we can change our own oil on our bus in the mid Florida area. If someone knows of a place, let me know. Thanks.
I know of one, but it ain't my place to offer it! LOL! But I'll bet when he reads this thread he'll gladly offer his place! ;D BK ;D
I'd offer to let you use it also, but its not my place. So you will just have to wait till he gets online.
Yea, I was there last week...
Were waitin.. ;D ;D ;D

You guys sure know how to put the pressure on.
Ed
mwf, here's some advice...I tried it and it works. Find an Oil Change outfit that has 15' doors and plenty of room to maneuver your bus. Go to them ahead of time and ask them what they'd charge you to change your oil and filters if you supplied everything.
Mine, in my home town, charges me $35 labor for the while deal. And they give me the opportunity to go down into the pit after they're done and give everything a good loooong look.
If you happen to live in a small town...getting the local newspaper photographer out there for a bit of free advertising doesn't hurt either. My bus didn't make the front page but it was on the third...and the owner of the oil change was happier than a pig in $hit!
Bob
Bob I'll do it for you for $32.50!
The only problem is that, who we are talking about is now on tour of Rally's for a couple of months.
Even as far north as Virginia.. He may not be back in Florida for a while.
Sorry Ed J. ;D

Just paid $3.53.9 at Flying J half way through North Carolina.
I was calculating my milage again and it seems I'm only getting 2.4 mpg....?? Then when I got underway, I then noticed that my Speedo
stopped working...bummer! I hardly look at it because it's easier to see the mph on my gps.
Darn, I opened my bay door and I lost all the Florida warm air I was saving to bring home.... >:(
Thanks

Hi David,
I'm ready to turn around and come back there...
Be sure to stop and say hi to my friends Peter and Cherry on lot 1 and Paul and Ellen on lot 2. Ellen runs the guard house on the weekends.
Also, Art Armstrong, Chris [gmbusguy's] dad. You will find that 99% of the folks there are overly nice....
I was on 94 next to the pool.
Have a great time!
Nick-
Nick, I will do that... The couple we came down with
are in lot 9, and I understand that they know them,
The lot 1 folks. Just got back from a walk around, it's
real quiet here after dark...must all be in bed.
Got stoped in IL on the way down...58 in a 55 zone.
The trooper said the main reason he pulled us over
is I fit the profile for drug running...LOL...???
50+.. 2 kids, the wife and 2 dogs. Said it looked
suspicious when we did not have a towed trailer or
car.
Hi David,
That's a strange traffic stop...
We tried 8 different golf cart rental places around Ft. myers and everybody was Sold Out of rentals! Go Figure... :o
I forgot, Peter and Cherry are now on their way back to Onterio for a week. [they drove their SUV and left the coach..]
They were leaving today...
Nick-
Nick, you would think golf carts would be as abundant as oranges
around here!!!! Going to check emails, then go to bed..750 miles
today...have know absorbed 5 beers..it's snore time.
Chat later,

Oooppps! Better be switching back to charters! LOL!
;D BK ;D
Like the cops needed another excuse to relieve their boredom...
First it was bootleg charter operators, now drug runners...
Ok, put the dope and cash in the toad and make out it wasn't there when the trip started...
The toad, I mean!

We have have never ever been involved in any kinda bootlegging! And neither has any of our family members.......! Well ok, maybe way back when I was a baby there mighta been a little somethin' somethin' goin' on, but I was too young to be involved! Now........ as for the other option hmmmm. Oppps what the h... am I think'n I enjoy being a free man too much to get involved with anything like that, even for ....... How much $ was that again? Hmmmm mill an a half? Hmmmm well maybe just 1 fake charter trip, and I'd be set! But I can guarantee one darn thing! I'd sure as heck have my story together as to where I was pick'n up! LOL! And a dang sure way to tell I was do'n anything at all wrong would be I'd be driv'n like the angel I am! LOL!
;D BK ;D
To dbenck, did he write you a ticket for 58?
Jack
No ticket just a written warning...said he was just
doing his job and hoped I was not mad.
maybe I should avoid IL on the trip back!!!

You guys are missing the most important part of this story, State Police "Seize Tour Bus"
Some one is going to be able to buy this at a Seizure Auction, this is very good for us Busnuts.

dbenck, I live in central IL. and the state boys here are jerks, and would pull over their own mother if they could. They set the example of stopping someone, and then finding a reason for having pulled you over. rule one is to avoid the color RED as a choice for you vehicle. rule two is avoid driving older looking cars. Hopes this helps.

Brings back memories of when I lived in California. I got a speeding ticket on the way to Palmdale. I opted for the defensive driving course to keep it off the record. When I went to the course, the guy doing registration saw the officer's name and what day it was. He said "you were driving a red car right?" I said "how'd you know." He explained that officer had a different color of car he focused on for each day of the week. Of course everybody out there was speeding so they could just take their pick.
I purposely bought my son a RED mustang - and then warned him about RED cars being targeted ...... hoping that would make him cautious ...... It didn't work .......

I don't think there is anything that will keep a teenage boy from mashing the throttle. Tragic, but that's the way it is. If they survive it, they grow up. Some of them go on to buy buses so they can have a powerful engine, hear the engine roar, keep the throttle mashed to the floor continously and yet still stay within speed limit.
