Title: PROSINE 3.0 INVERTER CHARGER QUESTIONS???
Post by: sivrtnge2 on February 20, 2008, 03:41:16 PM
OK I have questions about the prosine 3.0 12 volt inverter charger. Are they stackable??? What is needed to automatically start the genset??? How do some of you guys/gals install 2 alternators to charge start batteries (140 to 200 amp "truck type") and house battery bank (50DN ALTERNATOR)???

Sorry Bill, but we haven't gotten to that point in our conversion yet.  I am sure as more people get on later you will get a response.

Say Bill...............

Just a thought could you post what you found out so the rest of us could know?

Please........
Thanks
I know some have added another alternator for me 270 amp 24V alt. and a vanner does just
fine for my needs (which are very minnimal) :) If you are looking at charging 12v battery
then that is a slightly different set up. for the electronic wizards

Well skip...I was told yes I could stack them...then I was told no I couldn't stack them. I was told that the prosine was an unstackable unit unless I was looking to go to 240 volt. I have no idea what I'm doing. I was ;looking to get about 4k to 5k watts from stacking the units then I would be able to run a basement unit off of the with a sufficient bank. I guess I'll put the one unit in and use it for now. I will get something else figured later on.

BK...I know you would answer when you know...sometimes when you don't!!! "HA HA". I hear a lot about you and was wondering if you might be able to index my coach??? I am told there is a guy here in N. GA that could do it, just need to locate him.

Thanks,

In looking at the Xantrex site there seems to be few invertors over 3k watts and
even fewer that are stackable. I take it that you are doing a basement Air Cond....?

If you have it already that is one thing if not talk to Nick he and some others are HVAC experts
and they may have some straight forward help.  as a side note your prosine 3.0 has a 4k watt surge 5 sec max
if that helps. (per manual specs) I just noted that because there is a high start watt(amp {which ever}) drain with AC's.

good luck

I already have the basement ac units as well as 2 prosine 3.0 12 volt units. I guess I will make do with what I have for now. I might trade off later on.

I could give you directions! He's barely in GA, just outside of Chattanooga 1st exit in GA on I-75 So.
