Title: Where to attach awning strap/rail on MCI 7
Post by: Tenor on February 16, 2008, 08:28:23 AM
My windows go right up to the drip rail.  Where should I attach the metal strap/channel to the roof?  Under the drip rail (by taking off the rail, and installing the strap and reinstalling the drip rail) , on the drip rail or over the drip rail?  The last one seems like a bad idea..  My old GMC no longer had drip rails, so it was no big deal.  Thanks!

On my 7 the awning is installed above the rail. The roof runoff still collects in the drip rail.

On my 7 I installed the awning track above the factory drip rail. Some of my windows also go to the drip rail, so had no other choice. It looks fine, and works well.

Best regards.
