Title: Fantastic vents with remote: interference free?
Post by: Paladin on February 09, 2008, 02:41:10 PM
I've been looking at the Fantastic vents that have remote control, the 6000 series I think they are?
The remote is rf so I'm wondering if they might be prone to interference from neighboring coaches that might also be using one or maybe other rf sources? Or are they maybe very short range or a coded signal, adjustable channel?

Does anyone have any experience with these?

On a side note, does anyone have any experience with other brand (less expensive) powered fan units? Maybe like the Ventline?

How well do these fans work? I don't want to waste money only to change out to another unit later. I'm trying to plan my wiring accordingly to these fans. How many should I place?

I also thought I'd place a non powered unit above a ceiling fan above the bed to draw fresh air in for the fan to disperse around the bedroom, anyone see significant drawbacks to that idea?

Hi Dave,

The FV 6000 w/remote is worth every dollar!   I installed one in my coach the end of last summer and it works flawlessly.

I'm around lots of MH's where I'm staying now in Florida and no problems like you think with the RF signals.

Good Luck

Another option you might want to consider is a thermostatically controlled exhaust vent. On the roof it looks like a streamlined AC unit. We have 3 thermostats at the head of the bed-1 controls the basement air, 1 controls a CAT Platinum wall heater, and the third controls the exhaust vent over the bed. It's a '3-T' unit and is relatively quiet and weather proof. The hole in the roof is a standard roof vent size.
