Title: Is there any value to this WABCO ABS controller?
Post by: Brian Diehl on January 30, 2008, 06:12:59 PM
I have the ABS unit out of the Freightliner truck I tore apart for the engine/transmission.  I also have the ABS control modules that the ABS computer controlled.  This ABS unit also can function as a traction control device.  So, the real question is:  is there any market for this or should I just pitch it?

yup, but not here... You'll need to find the proper venue for it.

If I had a modern Freightliner, I'd offer you a chunk just to have it on hand... in case.

I realize there most likely is no interest from the members of this board.  However, I'd love to know what the "proper venue" is.  TIA

Depends on the type of ABS  ECU you have - Cab mounted, frame mounted, or basic, C or D version.
Also depends on amount of sensors and modulators it will control, and voltage it operates at 12 or 24 volts. http://meritorwabco.com/
Take it to a local charter garage, or transit garage.
Show it to them, might be able to get rid of it.  8)

E-bay or the local trucking outfit that runs Freightliners.

There is a bit of cash in those devices.

Check price new (parts supplier, not dealer) and go sub half?

happy coaching!
