That Kyle is one smooth talking devil.
Told me he needed a place to store His new orphan Scenic for a little bit,
next thing I know I am thanking him for the opportunity to improve the looks of my back pasture with His Scenic.
My advice, If your caller ID shows a S.C. number........Run!
Cliff
1-800-Cheap Scenic parts "You pull"
Jeez, Cliff.
I know where there's a really nasty little MC5A with a scent of cows, cat's and dogs close to you.. maybe you could take it in to be a real orphan. Then you could maybe get state funding!
Cliff,
You way under estimated the situation.
You don't realise that you are a happy and loving foster parent! :o
(but really a nursing home administrater) ;D
Yeah, well, you know a cruiser is gonna improve the property value . . . of where it last sat :o
Look at it this way, you are getting one of your dreams (You know the nightmare of having a 4501 sitting in your yard) & it's being delivered! 8)
You aren't planning a foor raise on this one too are you . . . . . Cliff, . . . . CLIFF . . . .
Ummm, just be sure Julie can't see it when she drives up or looks out the window. ::)
One thing I've noticed is that it's hard enough to get the dishwasher to be quiet & if too many buses are visible from the kitchen sink, you're gonna need ear protection. ;D

Kyle,
Am I ready this thread right? I'm taking it that you've ahhh.... uhmm ah aquire yet another orphan (like somewhere near Cliff)? I mean otherwise it seems awful expensive to haul them down all the way to Cliff's place.
??? BK ???
Another candidate for 'The Leper Colony', Kyle? :D :D :D Keep this up and you'll put the used parts houses out of business!
Bob
So Kyle what's it take to get one of the orpahans in my yard? ;D

nothing more than being in the right place at the right time.
Besides, I owed Cliff a favor. ;D

Bob
Sorry for not asking you Bob, but Franklin is a bit out of the way.
Well, Jack Hart & I just got in from a visit with Cliff, Mike, Bob & Vern.
I heard someone say "The eagle may have landed, but a turd is all that's left" :o
Was GREAT seeing you all ;D
I knew I'd see Bob, as he just had to come look at a real bus 8)
PD4501-011 sure looks good in Cliff's pasture. (The fact it is behind his barn & Julie can't see it helps alot! ;D )
I'm looking forward to getting her the rest of the way home.
More later,
Kyle4501
PS Thanks Jack for letting me boorrow your 'puter! ;D
Photos, We want Photos Jack
PS: Did I mention we want photos?
I sure enjoyed the visit with all of you all yesterday and Kyle I do beleive there was a little envy on Bob's part but he will never admit it,hope you and Jack have a safe trip home today and I will give you a call when I get to Gary's next month,Kathy say's hi and was sorry she missed you all Mike
You want photos? You could have been there and taken as many as you needed like NCBob!
But oh wait, Bob was to proud to ask for photos! ;D
Here is the man that would be KING...but is stuck with a bunch of derelict relics! ::)
I took many pictures yesterday and will edit them and post some right after chores this morning. Gotta keep these critters fed!
Bob
Well, I gotta admit, those Scenic's are pretty darn impressive!
And never more impressive than when they are on a Landoll trying to negogiate the entry of your driveway.
But, Jerome (Stepps) was a good driver and squeesed her right down the lane and into the pasture.
I sure had a great time with the gang, NCBob, MikeH8H, Kyle4501, Vern, JackHartj.
We did follow the Busnut rule and only talked about YOU if you wern't there. ;D
I did go out and look at Ole #11 this morning, and I think she likes the new view.
Jack-There should be plenty of pictures when Kyle gets home, I have seen less pictures taken when someone brings there baby home for the first time, Hmmm, I guess there is a sort of similarity.....In a deeply distrubed scenic crusier owner way.... ;)

Jack,
Notice I had Kyle park it next to that round bale.
If he don't come back for it.....kindling... ;)
Cliff
I had 16 or 17 pics that I tried to upload but gave up and gave them to Cliff to post. I'm not having a good week when it comes to this computer. Thanks Cliff....we'll be watching.
Bob

Just a guess, but I assume that is a parts bus? It looks like it would be a heck of a job to get that one running again. It appears it is not only missing the drivetrain, but the entire engine compartment!

Ahhh..... it maybe missing a few parts, but shoot soon boredom & curiousity will get to Cliff and Bob & they'll have it up and running so Kyle can come drive it home by the 4th of July! LOL!
Kyle don't forget to bring a driver side windshield or goggles! LOL!
Brian never under estimate a determined busnut! The strong strange & deranged will survive! LOL!
;D BK ;D
Cliff, it's amazing how clean and clear that windshield is and absolutely no glare, lol.
Kyle
nice bus, I have been trying to buy a couple of them here in cal. There are at least four of them running around me in Bakersfield, Two of them have 12V71', in them. The others have 8V71. I am looking at one now and have been tring to get ahold of the owner so I could buy it. They don't want much for it. Do you want to sell any parts off of any of them. I will need the big baggage door and a few other parts when the time comes.
Keep the corral full, but look out they are kind of like bunny rabbits. lol
Don
Just made it in. Fun weekend trip! Thanks Cliff for your hospitality. Thanks to all who turned out for the reception. That was great to see you all! Great pictures Bob!
As for selling parts, it seems I don't know how to sell any parts, just buy them. ::)
As for restoring vs parting out, I have not decided for sure yet, but this bus has been butchered in that the floor was lowered without any concern for the structure that was removed. I'd like to keep it as complete as possible as long as possible because there is a bus or 2 at the orphanage that need some parts. The door did close properly before we moved her, but now . . . . not so much. There is an amazing amount of corrosion on this bus. Seems like they don't make 'em like they used to. :(,
Oh, wait. This bus is 54 years old . . . . maybe that has something to do with it . . . .
Cliff, your bus is absolutely perfect in every way, so you don't need any of those old cruddy parts.
Bob, even tho there is magic in Scenicruisers, it ain't enough to help your MC5. ;D
Hi Cliff, I see what you mean about the 'kindling'! But I bet it wouldn't burn!
After spending 4 days with Kyle I have to say this; most of the time, after spending a couple of days with someone it's time for a break...I never felt that, I could have gone several more days with him...a GREAT guy that is serious about saving these ole' girls from a scrappers hell!
NCBob, I can't tell you how glad I was to see you at Cliff and Julie's!
Cliff and Julie, you are GREAT hosts!
Julie, Please send a care package of the soup! It was GREAT! (As was the lasagne!)
Mike, enjoyed meeting you buddy!
To Vern and Delmus, good seeing you again! Ya'll have done a great job over there, congrats!
All for now, gots' to go work on the bus!
Jack Hart
Jack, I know what you're doing & it isn't necessary. I already forgave you for stealing my bag of fresh Florida navel oranges. ;D
I'm looking forward to more adventures with Scenicruisers!
A picture as it was being loaded
OOPS! We didn't notice this tree limb that was a little low until on the way out. Too late to back up now, It rubbed, but didn't dent anything.
Jerome let the air out of the tractor & trailer suspension & gained the needed clearance.
Kyle, sorry bought the oranges, (Maybe ;D) me and Dianne are enjoying them!
Dianne loves the cradle and engine!
Jack
