Post by: junkman42 on January 22, 2008, 07:13:10 AM
Could some kind person please look at Their door spring and tell Me where the ends hook.  I can tell where the end hooks at the ball joint but am unable to figure where the other end hooks.  Also how do You stretch the spring?  Help, John

Hi;
   On my mc-7 (1970) one end hooks to the baggage door and the other end
   is threeaded thru a pully at the top of the spring shroud.  It then hooks to
   the top of the spring.  I also had to remove the spring shroud because my
   spring broke.      To streach the spring, I used vice grips.  I lowered the
   baggage door enough to hook up the cable and used the door as a lever
   to streach the spring.  With the spring streached far as it will go, use the
   vice grips at the pully.  That way the spring won't spring back.
                                            Good luck,   Merle.

Merle I was refering to the assist spring on the entrance door for the coach.  I should have been a little more specific.  If You look behind the panel between the windshield wipers You can see where the spring hooks on the bolt that secures the operating rod to the handle assembly.  I can not figure where the other end of the spring goes.  Any help is appreciated.  John
