Title: Buses on Campaign Trail ??
Post by: Gary '79 5C on January 20, 2008, 12:52:45 AM
Any one looking as to who is riding in what bus for the campaign trails. The only one I could identify was McCain in an Eagle.
I think Hillary was next to a late model MCI, but not sure.

Only buses, no politics spoken in this thread...

Nick I can assure you that the Romney Bus in the picture is for his volunteer workers or similar! Mom & Dad took a load of his supporters up to the Iowa Caucus from St. Louis & Kansas City areas and they aid Romney's personal ride was a very elegant Renaissance! They parked our 102A3 close to it hoping to let some of the Renaissance's class rub off on ours! LOL! (Personally I told them I'd settled for Romney's driver hitting ours and collecting the insurance $ LOL!)

This looks like fun! If our bus ever gets to Florida, will they let me try this?

Hi Don,
That happened to me back in 89'. I had my dad's 4104 headding into the infield at Dover Delaware for a winston cup race. The guy at the gate
waived me onto the track instead of the infield?? I went with it until I realized how much Dover was banked... As I tried to get down onto the apron,
there were pace cars comming the oppiset way and I was forced to stay on the track, well everything that was on the right side of the bus was now
on the left side and I was peddle to the floor in 3rd gear trying to stay at 30+mph. "I thought the bus was going over for sure" Something made me look in the mirror only to see my dad's friend in his 4106 right behind me..."must of been a kodak moment" after the back streatch, came turn 3 &4
then making the proper turn into the infield. My dad's friend lost his prime in turn 3 and was forced into the infield where we spent a hour getting him restarted.

Great story, Nick! Certainly a color Kodak moment, to catch your "opponent's" yellow flag.

Still chucklin',

Don

Just showed Lynn the Daytona photo and she noticed, "It's seems to be leaning a bit to the left."

(Sorry, couldn't help it!).
