Title: A great site for all bus owners with diesel engines
Post by: makemineatwostroke on December 29, 2007, 06:25:39 AM
I found this site on another board www.expertdiesel.com this man gives you accurate information about the DD diesels with everything from antifreeze to boost. Its a large site so it will take a little time but well worth the time and effort. It also shows the real reason for the failure that XXXX bus blames on oil that any DD person knew was wrong.

MMATS,

That was informative.  And no matter what your favorite color or flavor.

Thanks,

John

Thank you makemineatwostroke.....I particularily enjoyed the video showing the initial startup of that pumped up 900 hp 12V71TA.  He he he.  Regression is alive and well.  V12 Detroits sound soossss cool, expecially with the audio...TURNED ALL THE WAY UP!!!  :) :) :)

Jack, if you look at the piston scoring on both sites it will show the stimulatory of the piston wear because of the retainers not being installed correctly this allows the oil to be sucked away from the pistons and will start pulling metal from the pistons and the oil ring is like a piece of glass and will break if you do not use the right ring compressor to install the piston in the liner .There is no way a DD will show that kind of wear in 100hrs or 6000 miles if it is properly rebuilt.I have saw DDs with 7000 plus hrs on it that did not look as bad as the one that has used 40W according to him.another thing DD runs 200,000 miles wear checks not 100hrs for oil, and that engine with the broke oil rings I presume he talking about on all pistons would be popping and smoking so bad you could not be around it.If this came from two different engines they were not rebuilt by a good 2 stroke engine re builder. My personal opinion is that it's the same 6v92 engine, and I am not the only one that thinks this

Hi Guy's, lets not mention names unless it's public in a court of law.
Thanks
