My 8V92 has recently started overheating when I drive faster than 55 MPH. The coolant level is not low. Nothing in the engine was changed prior to the start of this problem. What do you fellers suspect would be the cause? The belt and fans are fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Mal
Hi MLH,
The only thing that comes to mind would be a stuck thermostat ( or both ).
If you have one of those non-contact temp sensors , try checking the stat housing and the pipes going up to the rads.
If one is hotter than another that could be a glue.
You'll get more answers in just a while , some of the boys must be on break :-).

mlh1936,on one these boards there was a good post about bus overheating and what to check for, maybe someone will have a link for the post.but what you are describing it sound like a air movement problem
Do the cheap stuff first. Check that the radiator cap is holding pressure. I think the thermostat is you second best bet and checking their temps with a non-contact lazer pointing heat gun is the way to go. You are almost fixed already.

When was the last time you flushed your system? did you use DD recomended coolant and distilled water?
My belt can look fine and still be loose enough to cause your problem. It will act just as you describe.
