Title: GPS antenna cover
Post by: Bob Belter on November 27, 2007, 06:53:12 PM
Ahoy, Bus Guys,

I need to place my GPS antenna in a better position (not just dangling in the windshield) in order to improve reception.  Also, my computer wireless 'dongle' needs to be better located.

My plan is to place both under a small dome on the top of the bus.  It will be a ~~ 6" diameter x 1.5" high "soup bowl" heat formed of ASB plastic.

Question for anyone with knowledge in this field is:

Is the ABS plastic translucent to signals for the GPS and the wireless?

Thanks  /s/ Bob

Hi Bob,

I now have both my gps and xm antenna's mounted under my front fiberglass roof cap. They both work very well.

My front cap is factory on my 102C3 but still fiberglass.  I think it was either Niles or H3Jim who informed me about this

and it turned out to be a good thing.

Good Luck
