Title: MCI-8 & 9 question.
Post by: roadrunnertex on November 18, 2007, 07:44:05 PM
The question is will a complete 8V/71 with a automatic transmission out of a MC-8 fit a MC-9 with out any major modifications? ???
A fellow bus buddy is looking at a MC-9 that has a bad 8V/71 and a 5 speed standard transmission.
And he has located a 8/V71 with a automatic transmission out of a MC-8.
We understand that we are going to have to install a cable shifter and shift tower to make things work.
jlv ;D

It can't be done ???

should be a simple fitment. I have motor and tranny out of a 92 mci9 in my 8 with auto tranny and haven't seen any signs of fabrication work

Should be s relatively simple swap. Don't forget to get the driveshaft with the 8V71 & Auto. Make sure the transnission cooler is on the 8V71.  Jack
