Title: inverter question
Post by: steve5B on November 16, 2007, 05:48:36 AM

I was wondering if a 5000 watt /10000 surge inverter would be a good choice to use --V--trace inverter types.  Have a couple

of them around the race shop here.

I have been using a 5000 watt Aims inverter for 4 years now and love it. It is modified sine and won't run my printer but I have worked around that. I hooked a smart charger to my inverter and have a great system.

Hi Steve,

Do you know if they are Sine Wave inverters, or modified wave?

Do they have built in Chargers?

Let us know

Nick

All the ones I've seen are modified sine wave and no charger built in and you can decrease stated value by 50% at least

  Hi Nick,

They are Aims and I think they are sine but I'm not sure but will check and let you know.

Steve, I have an Aims inverter 5000 watt and it has been great. I doubt though they are sine wave. could be wrong and if I am you should definately use them. If not I would be interested in one to try and get 220 out of my inverters.
