Does the 1988 RTS Have the newer style steering and suspension that everyone says is so nice. (40' Wide body)

I really need this answer ASAP Please.

It should have the straight front axle in it, don't know anything about one style being better than the other style. I guess you are comparing the independent front suspension /steering and the straight axle suspension / steering.
This is based on my service manual info dated 3/88.

Straight front axels started with the model 06

40' 102" T80206
40' 096" T80606
35' 102" T70206
35' 096" T70606

IIRC GMC RTS 06 started 1987 - then TMC RTS 06 started 1988
