I just talked to an acquaintance of mine that works for an oil distributor and I asked him if he was able to get the straight 40W low ash CF2 rated oil for the two stroke Detroit, and he said yes.
I had him look up the prices and here is what I got,
$377.00 for a 55 gal drum (6.87 gal)
$25.00 per case in 1qt. bottles (3 gal.)
the above prices are for Citgo Citguard, and I am sure that he would have to order it out so it would be a few days to get it. He said that I could list his name and number as a contact, if interested call;

I post this as a service to you guys if you need it because it seems that finding the proper oil is challenging at times, I make nothing on the sale.

Jim,
That is good info, I didn't know Citgo even made CF-2 oil. That is an amazing price for the quarts, they are usually the highest. I've been paying around $9-10 for Rotella in gallons lately but I don't think Rotella is any better than anything else.
In that cold country I would use the CF-2 Heavy Duty 30W from WalMart in two gallon jugs, even here in mild AR I use it in cooler weather. It is a very good price too.
Thanks for letting us know.
i got Rotella-T last month from the local NAPA store. they had to order it in as they were out, but it was about $10/gallon for a case. came in within 2 days.
that's in Ohio, Cleveland area.
