I'm working on my Pro Heat install and want to tap into the copper coolant line that runs through the tunnel in my bays. The big one on the drivers side that is insulated is obviously my feed line going to the front. There are 2 uninsulated copper lines that are pretty warm to the touch that I'm assuming are returns, where do they return to? Then there are 2 copper lines that are insulated on the passenger side that I believe are AC lines.
I'm going to remove the bus heat so I can gain more storage space. Should I tap into the feed line right by the Pro Heat or go forward and run hose back to it from the fitting up front? Should I use copper or is heater hose ok?
For my WVO fuel lines I would like to run copper through the large ac line and then make the ac line a coolant line also. A hose in hose setup.
I'm trying to find the shut offs for my cooling system that goes forward of the engine compartment, I found one on curb side down by the frame rail. Where's the other? They were both together on my 4905
The main coolant lines should be about the same size (greater than 1" diameter ). Beware of the power steering lines and the HOT (wet) line from the air compressor that runs up through there also.
If you accidentally cut a power steering line, Look Out.. You will play hell to get it repaired so that the high pressure oil will stay in...( actually hydraulic pressures! )
Valves....
The other one is way back up under the engine ledge ( about where the access panel in the floor is located ) ( Up over the transmission area. )
If you plan on running veggie in a hard line make sure it's all stainless steel. Veggie will corrode copper tubing and start gumming and sliming the inside of the tubing.
Also.. Veggie will cause standard (black-cheap) fuel hose to harden and become very brittle. You have to find hose that is compatable with vegetable oils. Don't ask me how I know all of this. I am still trying to clean some of the gunk out of one of my experimental setups.....( Never had a problem on the road, Just on stationary test stuff.. )
