Title: By-Passing DDEC Fuel Pressure Sensor
Post by: captain ron on October 23, 2007, 08:10:46 AM
I'm converting my bus to run on WVO (Fuel Additive  8)). I need to have fuel pressure at the sensor but don't think the oil will be at right viscosity even at 180 deg.  So I need to trick (for a lack of a better term)that sensor into reading correct pressure. Any Ideas?   I also think I might want to use a separate fuel pump like an electric one for that system as to not mess up my factory one if it does cause problems and just for diagnosing/isolating problems. I would actually like a completely separate fuel feed and return system.  More suggestions?  Looks like I'll be using engine coolant and maybe a Pro Heat to heat my oil.

Hey Ron,
Try a little trick we used to use for O2, MAP, and several other sensors on computerized engines, when we'd modify them. We'd take voltage and resistance readings of known good sensors at normal operating temps. Then find the right resistors to put on the wires without hooking it to the sensors so that we'd end up with the same (or very, very close too) readings! Walla the system is fooled thinking it is "stock" when it was actually a ground pounding screaming demon! FWIW ;D  BK  ;D

Careful There, Ron may get confused and wire a resistor across his accelerator...
You know how technical he is with wiring stuff.. ::) ::) ::) ::) ::) ::)
