I'm going to purchase the Cummins Insight and InLine5 products to help me figure out why I can't get my cruise control working. Anyone know of a good place to buy where I might be able to pay less than full price?
Brian,
When we were doing product searches for the mechanics and shops I don't think we found any outside
sources than the manufacture of the equip. Since we have so many types of equipment I can't remember
if we did one for Cummins but when our hardware guy gets back from vacation I'll check with him.
Sorry I don't have any better answers but if you do find an outside source let me know and I'll pass it
on to our guys.

Thanks for the link! I'll check them out.
Hi Brian. I have the Pro Link and would be glad to loan it to you, but you will have to buy the card ($500?).
Before you do that, I assume you have done the obvious things. If your ECM software is anything like the DDEC, you will have inputs for brake pressure detection and clutch detection. Either will shut the CC down. You will have to rig an air switch to the brake system and I simply wired the clutch switch out of the circuit (made it look like the clutch pedal was never moved).
For the fast idle, you will need to fake the system into thinking the park brake is on (must put a switch in, since the cruise control will not work if it thinks the parking brake is on), or wire it correctly so that signal is made when parking.

Thanks for the ideas Jim. Yes, I've done all the obvious things ... but still it won't work. So, I just need to find out what the ECM is missing. I'm sure it will work correctly with very little work once I know what item needs "fixin"! Jim, thanks for the offer of the pro-link! I'll take a rain check on that for now as I think I know what I'm going to do.
