Title: Eagle on I-10
Post by: Kwajdiver on October 11, 2007, 06:03:01 PM
Saw an Eagel, pulling a white trailer, West bound I-10 yesterday.  It was near Panama City, Florida.

I was in the four wheeler.

Bill,

Sad and happy to see the sell. You're still going to stop in and yak with us even
after you've sold the bus? Hope so!

Is your employer no longer paying for use of an RV?  It sure seems like paying for an employee to live in an RV would be less money than paying for long term hotels or apartments.

They took our per diem away.  The per diem was $80.00 a day.  Was plenty to make the payments on the bus, pay for RV parks and food. NOW, they are paying actual and reasonable.  It doesn't matter if I stay in a $25.00 a night RV park or a condo that cost $1500 or more a month.  It pays me the same, but not make the payments on the bus.

They still pay .48 cents a mile when they relocate me. That of course helps.

I am on the road 95% of the time.  They move me every two to four months to a new RADAR site. Losing the per diem amounts to a lot of money.

What would you do?

Bill,

I'll lease your bus to you (condo on wheels) and set up a fund in your name for it.

I know that's not right!!

but it really is sad when management doesn't pencil out the whole equation.

In the long run they just cost themselves money.

  Just MHO

Skip,

That is a real good thought.  Do you take American Express?  You could lease it back to me what  my max is for that city.  Here it is $96 a day.   I COULD MAKE MONEY....

hummmm, $2,976 for this month.   Interesting........

You also might look into setting up your own LLC or Corporation that would lease the bus to you. Check with a good CPA and tax man. You could then depreciate the bus also.

This is all good and well.  But, I'm actually looking for a new job in the Tampa Bay area.  I'm tired of being on the road all the time.  On top of that, I fooled around and fell in love with a girl from,,,,, you guess it,,, Tampa.

Go Bucs,

Bill

Bill,
I could of course we'd have to deduct the fees charged for using a cc from your "rebate"! If interested contact me! If nothing else we could do it on a job to job or month to month deal and you could atleast use it, and let it pay for itself until it sells! ;D  BK  ;D
