Title: Question about trans line
Post by: MedicNovo on October 11, 2007, 08:48:07 AM
Does anyone know what the 2 transmission lines that come off of the top of the transmission are?  There are 2 - 1 1/4" lines that are banded together.  The band has cut into one of mine and is starting to leak only when in a forward gear.  Is it some kind of pto line?  Im looking to patch it up for now, Ill fix it on Monday.  I have to drive 200mi this weekend.  Thanks for all the help.

John, Filter or cooler lines. Assuming you have a 740 trans. I can look in the book if you wish. Should use the same hose for both.  Tom Y

That makes sense. I think its the filter line, but it threw me off that it must only filter in forward gears.  It wont leak at idle or in reverse.
Thanks for the help.

John, The filter lines are on the right and the cooler lines on the left in a rear engine bus. Tom Y
