Title: Need help in setting up Donaldson Air Filter on 4104
Post by: GM0406 on October 10, 2007, 09:34:36 AM
Been a long time since I have posted.  That is because the vibration in the 671 in my 4104 was diagnosed as a faulty machined crank that had too much play on thrust, mains, and rods.  This crank has now been replaced with a good crank, and the engine has been restarted.  However, the DD shop has been trying to keep costs down by working on the coach in between their other usual truck repair activities.  Unfortunately the air cleaner and attachments where misplaced and they think they got thrown out during a cleanup by mistake.  The coach has been there over a year now.  So if anyone has an '04 with the late 671 (4 valve head) N-65 injectors and large 5" blower intake with a Donaldson air cleaner, I would appreciate pictures showing the installation.  AND, this engine has an oil recovery system on it that worked very well.  The engine did not leak a drop.  I think they are confused at some of the connections for this unit.  This coach used to belong to George Thornhill who has had surgery lately and I don't want to bother him right now.  If any of you know how this should go together, or if any of you are running the same setup, please let me know.  If you are in California, I can even come and look at your setup if you are willing.  Thanks for reading this and hopefully someone can help.  Craig Craddock has been trying to help me and is extremely knowledgeable.  Hopefully someone has a running clone to my great '04 that can help us put this back together again.  Bill Thomas

Greetings Bill!

Any updates on your project?  Fellow busnuts, any advice for Bill on this?

Best Regards, Phil
